The Hilton Tokyo, often praised for its elegant and welcoming atmosphere, is adorned with live music and plush furnishings, providing a luxurious experience. While the spacious rooms receive compliments, opinions on their decor and amenities vary. Guests commend the cleanliness and the array of amenities, including an executive lounge and diverse dining options.
The hotel's location is appreciated for its convenience to transport and a shuttle service, despite being a distance from immediate attractions. Service is generally well-regarded, but some guests report inconsistency. However, the value proposition is criticized, with some feeling the cost does not match the experience.

Our second stay here in as many years, and again what a great choice! Service is impeccable at the front desk, concierge desk, breakfast buffet and executive lounge. Housekeeping was attentive to our requests for extra bedding. Concierge helped us with arriving packages and making restaurant recommendations / reservations.
The location of this property couldn't be more perfect, with the underground passage to rail, the 10-minute Shinjuku shuttle, and the quiet business neighborhood. On this visit we discovered a sprawling peaceful park, with Starbucks and a restaurant (and rare outdoor seating) just half a block away.
Guest rooms are tranquil with no noise from adjacent rooms, bedding is luxurious. Bathrooms are equipped with all of the Japanese amenities, immediate hot water and great water pressure from shower, bath and sink. Nespresso coffee maker and electric teapot were greatly appreciated. More than enough electrical outlets in the room for charging all of our devices.
Definitely recommend booking with breakfast included, as the buffet cannot be beat.
We hold the Tokyo Hilton up as one of the very best hotels in which we've ever stayed.

Hilton Tokyo Shinjuku, this is our second trip to this cosy hotel. This trip in Jan 2024 was with the whole family of four. Plenty of people to thank and compliment. We met Jayde at the Marble Lounge for breakfast. He gave us good briefing of Japan's Culture and Places of Interest. I did not know that Japan celebrates the Year of the Dragon wef 01 Jan 2024. Japan celebrates the New Year from 01 to 03 Jan 2024. The mashed sweet potatoes with sweet chestnut and the bean's dish behind it at the buffet table were special dishes prepared to celebrate their New Year from 01 to 03 Jan 2024.
Dynasty Restaurant at Level 2 is another place we must visit. Mr Shingo Arai and his team, Harune and others, gave us a Warm Welcome during their cold Winter.
Food were delicious and reasonably priced.
They also have special dishes and Special Set Meals during their New Year Celebrations from 01 to 03 Jan 2024.
Concierge We were met by Alan (from USA) to handle the Check-in for us. Very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly like many of their staff.
The concierge who greeted us upon arrival to the delivery of luggage to our room was very courteous and helpful.
The group of Concierge who helped us on checking out of hotel, bringing the luggage downstairs and loaded them into our transport to airport were very helpful and friendly.
Executive Lounge The staff there were very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly.
This trip, I happened to have more interaction with Miss Jessy (a French lady) and Nirisha as they were on duty during my visit to the Executive Lounge.
All the staff were well trained and friendly. You can just speak to any staff on duty during your visit.
Housekeeping
Met Mr Kasai Yukuse who provided us with the pillows we requested.
Same quality, very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly.
Airport Transfers
Last but not least, even the Airport Transfers arranged by Hilton Hotel provided very good services.
There was a female staff waiting for us at Haneda Airport Arrival Hall.
It was so convenient to transfer from airport to Hilton Tokyo Shinjuku with their arranged transport and Help.
The lady who met us at the Airport was very professional, courteous, friendly and helpful.
She even helped us by taking over the trolley of luggage from my daughter and pushed along to the pick up point.
Thereafter, smooth ride to Hilton Tokyo Shinjuku.

In June, we stayed at the Hilton Tokyo, and it was by far the best of the three hotels I experienced in the city. The hotel's location is perfect for exploring Tokyo, with easy access to all the major attractions. One of the highlights was the convenience of the airport limousine bus stopping right at the hotel, making our arrival and departure stress-free.
The restaurants at the Hilton Tokyo were outstanding, offering a variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. The service was impeccable, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was elegant and welcoming. I highly recommend the Hilton Tokyo for anyone visiting the city—it's a top-notch choice!

Location is handy enough as there are a couple of metro stops within 5 to 10mins from the hotel which you can access via the underground “maze” if you know how to navigate it as it is something Google map does not tell you. If all fails, there is a regular shuttle bus that goes between Shinjuku Station and the hotel.
We stayed at an executive suite and it is very spacious.
The service is a bit hit and miss. Some staff were great to deal with and very helpful. I particularly like the message service via the app, which they have staff monitoring it at all times it seems and you do get very prompt response. However, we felt let down by certain staff at the concerige, which they appeared to be evasive and unhelpful.
As for the executive lounge, we had a couple of breakfast up there and didn't like the morning service team; but it was a sharp contrast to the evening service team which all were attentive, friendly and polite.
Overall, worth staying because of the location (if you want to stay in Shinjuku) and room size. We just checked into Tokyo Station Hotel after our two nights excursion to Hakone, we have got to say that Tokyo Station Hotel has got a much better team that pull out all stops to make you feel welcome. We kinda regret not booking TSH in the first place!

I stayed here with my husband and two children aged 9 and 7 in January 2025. We utilised Hilton’s interconnecting room guarantee and stayed in two interconnecting Twin Executive rooms, configured as one king bed and two singles.
Location
This hotel is located in the commercial, quieter part of Shinjuku, but is a quick 500 metre to 1km stroll (flat) to the vibrant and busy part of Shinjuku, i.e. the part that contains most of the shops, restaurants and entertainment.
Cleanliness and housekeeping
Perfect to a fault in every way. The laundry service was immaculate.
Rooms
The rooms are well appointed although in keeping with lots of other American hotel chains, the minibar was empty - always a bit frustrating when you arrive somewhere with hungry kids and you don’t have any snacks of your own for whatever reason (e.g. just came off an international flight). In memory of what was once surely a minibar, there is still a mini fridge and small pantry area. Tea and pod coffee facilities were available. Wardrobe space is minimal and we only hung a few items, choosing instead to dress out of our suitcases. Windows were fastidiously cleaned and the views were jaw-dropping.
Service
The service could not be faulted. The staff was kind and attentive and went above and beyond to assist.
Room service and restaurants
My one gripe is that the restaurants and room service were more expensive than average - for example, one burger cost $49. To dine in a hotel restaurant as a family of four cost $200-$400 (hence we usually ate elsewhere). There is a kids’ menu (the same at each of the hotel’s restaurants), however it didn’t cater all that well for our kids (for example, no pizza). The room service menu - a severely truncated and consolidated version of the restaurant menus - barely catered for kids at all. Also no pizza - and, as noted, hideously expensive (at least to us). (Prices above are AUD).
The vibe
We travelled in the peak of winter and as such there were many families and couples either returning from or going to the ski fields. Aside from being exceptionally busy in both the lobby and Executive Lounge at times, all vibes were positive. On one occasion there was live music near the grill restaurant.
Would I recommend to a friend?
Yes for sure but with the caveats that 1) it’s a short walk (could be long with toddlers) to the centre of the action, and 2) it’s better (in my opinion) to get your dinners elsewhere, or order Uber Eats (delivery drivers will meet you in the lobby). There is also a 7-11 within a 5 minute walk which sells some fresh food including strawberries etc. But yes I definitely recommend this hotel!

Who knew I’d find myself back at Hilton Tokyo Shinjuku after 25 years? A trip to the hotel’s fitness center triggered a sense of déjà vu, and a quick chat with a friend confirmed it—this was the same hotel I stayed decades ago.
The hotel shows its age but is well-maintained, with a minimalist Japanese aesthetic. The compact bathroom, on the other hand, felt more modern. The fitness center gets the job done, but the pool’s too small for serious laps. On the plus side, the wet lounge in the changing room offers hot/cold jacuzzis and a dry sauna. Perfect after a day of shopping at Shinjuku.
I was upgraded to an executive room with lounge access, but the lounge was a disappointment. It was constantly crowded, and they even implemented time limits per guest. The presence of noisy children (at both breakfast and cocktails) didn’t help. To top it off, on my last day, a foreign staff member seemed overly preoccupied with his friends and their families, ignoring the fact that there were other guests in the lounge.
One saving grace? The prime location. Hilton Shinjuku is just a shuttle ride away from Shinjuku Station, and the airport bus drops you right at the hotel entrance.
It’s a pity the lounge experience didn’t match the convenience. If not, it would be a wonderful reminiscent of old times.

Dear WhereToGoh, Warm greetings from Hilton Tokyo. Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us your feedback. It’s always special to reconnect with the past, and we appreciate your feedback on our hotel’s aesthetic and facilities. We’re glad you enjoyed the fitness center and the wet lounge, as they are designed to provide relaxation after a busy day in Shinjuku. However, we sincerely apologize for the disappointment you experienced in the executive lounge. This is a really lovely hotel although I have some mixed feelings about it, mainly because of its location. I really enjoyed my stay in an accessible room on the 32nd floor, having been moved from an Executive Twin room. The accessible room was large with a sofa along the window which was great for looking at the city view. I think if this had been my first visit to Tokyo I would have found the location slightly inconvenient as it’s a bit out from Shinjuku and about a 5 minute walk (via a subway attached to the hotel) to the M Line on the Metro. That being said, I liked the slightly quieter location - it’s a business area so it’s pretty quiet - as it was a respite from the madness that Tokyo can be. I really liked the Hotel’s shuttle to Shinjuku although it is only about a 10 min walk to the shops and transport there anyway. The Exec Lounge had a really nice breakfast and evening canapés. It was very, very busy so we preferred the evening drinks in the smaller room next to the main lounge. The staff managed the crowds really well and were all very friendly. There’s also a great view of Mt Fuji from the Lounge which was a bonus. The only other thing worth mentioning is that there was a lot of noise from other rooms. We seemed to be there at a very busy time and there were lots of kids running in the hallways and noise from adjoining rooms but that wasn’t a big deal with earplugs. I’d recommend the Hotel, just be aware that you’re not surrounded by shops and restaurants like in other areas and need to travel by subway to most things tourists would want to do.

Returning guest after a few years thanks to Covid. The hotel is large, noisy and busy. and you will have to line up for just about everything - lifts, breakfast, concierge, check in etc.
We had access to the club lounge which is NOT a peaceful haven, the lounge is oversubscribed day and night. The evening cocktail hour has some big attractions - if you like to help yourself to decent free pour spirits and cheap wine for a few hours, you will love it. Because it is so crazy busy in a small area the food "presentation" is a wrestling match to get to, I was constantly jostled and bumped as it is in a narrow space. They clearly sell a lot of rooms with lounge access as it must be a good money maker, when you add that to all the Diamond Honors members this is the mess you get. The food features a lot of cheap ingredients such as mince and rice. We did not try the lounge for breakfast as the auto coffee machine in the lounge is bad, the main restaurant which was also a breakfast option and does a better coffee.
The king junior suite executive room is a good option for a couple of nights when you have 2 big suitcases, it is very large by Japanese standards and not too cluttered. Bathroom is compact but appears to have been renovated and there is a bath and separate shower. It is a wet room design so the bath and shower are in the same space behind a glass door, fashionable in hotels now but an awkward layout. The staff were universally trying their best to make everyone comfortable notwithstanding the crowds. The free hotel shuttle bus to Shinjuku Station is very efficient and runs 3 times per hour.

Good location and very comfortable hotel. Located 15 min walk to Shinjuku where there are tons of restaurants and shops. A 5 min walk to metro M07 stop. They had a free shuttle to Shinjuku every 20 mins. We had breakfast included, which was so good we made it our main meal of the day. Breakfast was buffet and included American style, Asian Style and European style variety. Apparently, Japan has embraced French baking and their pastries were delicious. There was a made to order egg station and plenty of fresh fruit too. If you did not want the buffet breakfast, there was a small patisserie and coffee shop in the lobby. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. There were pajamas in the drawer and robes with slippers for us to use. In the bathroom there were all the things needed, including toothbrush/toothpaste, comb, vanity items as well a shower cap and shampoo/conditioner/bodycream. Wifi was very strong and the hotel was very quiet. There is also an underground mall that has nice restaurants. We stayed a few days on arrival in Japan and we came back to the same hotel two nights before departing. They kept some of our luggage, so we didn't have to travel with it. Another nice feature the Japanese hotels have, is that you can send your luggage to your next destination, so you do not need to travel with it. It takes 24 hrs to get to the hotel. We sent ours from Kyoto to Tokyo for $35/suitcase. It showed up right in our room at the Hilton. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Hilton Tokyo, is a beautiful hotel with an amazing buffet style lobby restaurant and a very helpful and friendly staff.
My room was newly renovated and had updated furnishings and carpet that was very modern and tasteful. There is a black out 'screen' that completely darkens the room or if you prefer indirect sunlight during the day there is a translucent screen.
The bed was very comfortable with good quality linens. My only complaint is that the pillows were very thin. I had to use 3 pillows just to get my head where I was comfortable. I am sure I could have requested addional feather or foam pillows, but I got in late and was tired.
The bathroom has the typical Japanese toilet seat, complete with all the gadgets from spraying heated water to a heated seat. Extra points to the hotel for eliminating single use toiletries. The shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash large pumps AND the sink area had a hand wash and lotion pump. Many hotels don't put the hand wash pump next to the sink, forcing you to either use the bar soap or use the body wash from the shower.
The room was quiet and comfortable after initially being a bit stuffy (it was an unseasonably warm day outside).
The hotel lists itself on Google Maps as a 5-Star hotel. It is for that reason that I am going to rate this hotel with 4 stars. It is not a 5-Star hotel, but is easily a really good 4 star hotel.

The location is convenient for first timers with a toddler with many options for transportation. Additionally, the subway stop "Nishi-Shinjuku" is a 2 minute walk from Hilton Tokyo via an underground path. There is an escalator near the main floor Marble Lounge where the breakfast buffet is served. There is no signage by the escalator to indicate this walk path can lead to the subway stop. Take the escalator down to an underground path where there are shops. If you see two walk belts, you are heading the right direction. The two walking belts were closed due to energy savings during our stay. Nishi Shinjuku stop is one subway stop from Shinjuku stop.
