The downside was how expensive everything was in terms of add-ons and restaurants. There was a charge to use the pool, breakfast was over 100 dollars one morning ( and one of us had toast and coffee only), and our first night dinner in the Chinese restaurant was nearly the same.
I would recommend this hotel based on the quality of the staff. The only reason I may not stay there again is if we choose to stay in a different area of town.
Their room size is huge and bathroom too plenty of room to put many cosmetic bags and family towels.
Good size for a family as not many hotels in Tokyo have big sized rooms unless you pay an arm and a leg.
Lots of amenities downstairs with the mini art, restaurants with many different cuisines, bakery and cake shop.
And is very near the tokyo tower, loved walking past the park. Plus its also quite near ginza by taxi.
Very beautiful hotel with amazing and polite staff you can feel the hotels character and gracefulness the minute you walk in.
The train station was about 10 to 15 mins walk from the hotel. I used the free shuttle bus from hotel to the nearest station too. I might consider returning to the hotel if I am keen to swim and use onsen while in Tokyo.
I think some room types are refurbished but unfortunately it seems I got an old room which didn’t get much love from the refurbishment like the lobby did. Also no view of the Tower. Boo.It also contains an ancient looking TV + console accompanied by the most jarring pink sofa ever, a set of table and chair, a work desk + chair, and 2x twin beds with bedside tables.
The bathroom was adequate with basic amenities taken care of, and I loved loved the bathtub’s jacuzzi function – it was so nice to be able to soak in bubbling hot water after a day’s work!
Breakfast – I did not try breakfast at the main restaurant as the hotel catered to us as a corporate booking group so we were arranged for breakfast at their Chinese restaurant, Yomeiden. The place feels like an 80s Chinese restaurant which I actually haven’t seen in a while.
But the food was great – both in terms of quantity and quality (all fruits were divine!). They even managed to arrange an egg station!

the bowling alley was privatized during our stay... after the meal I wanted to go for a drink at the hotel bar on the top floor and to my surprise he told me that I couldn't get in without a reservation and that the bar was full on 15 next few days for people who are not even customers of the hotel, it was 9:30 p.m. and the bar closed at 11 p.m.… (the bar is known and therefore lots of outside people come and there is no more room for customers who pay for a room) ... I refuse to leave and make it clear that I only want to have a drink at the bar and call the manager, and as if by a miracle I can access the bar where I realize that there is plenty of room free, the cocktail and the view are nice but I'm a little jaded to have to refuse to be rejected to have a simple drink in the hotel where I sleep and given the price of the rooms... well the only smoking area is in the basement floor in the middle of the corridors in short not great for a 5 star experience… the air conditioning in the room was quite noisy… positive point the view, the central location, and the whirlpool bathtub in the room… a lot of passages in this hotel so necessarily less attention than in the other 5 stars in Tokyo. Damage …
This was our 5th trip to Tokyo with my husband and teens (15 and 17 yrs) and we stayed one night at the end of our trip due to the close proximity to Haneda. We had 2 premier club floor junior suites. The rooms were very small, the bathrooms were almost miserably small and the closet was basically non existent. The only thing we liked about the rooms was the balcony.
In previous visits to Tokyo, we've stayed at the Capitol Hotel, Park Hyatt Tokyo and Grand Hyatt Tokyo which were outstanding and we know what to expect from a true 5* hotel and lounge experience in this city. This lounge was nowhere close to it. The service was not up to par, the food was very mediocre and there was not much of a selection of upscale drink options. On a positive note, the views of the Tokyo Tower from the lounge were incredible so it was nice to relax there and enjoy the view. For breakfast, it was not served in the intimate lounge but in a giant restaurant with buffet options which felt like a Las Vegas all you can eat nightmare. It was very chaotic. We didn't know mediocre food and service existed in Japan until this hotel, as we've only had outstanding food and service everywhere we've been in the country. Spend the extra money and stay in a true upscale hotel.
Two underground stations nearby.
Highly recommended.
When I checked in, I was asked if I wanted a Tokyo Tower view for 15,000 yen, and at first I hesitated, but I asked for it because I was there, and I was overwhelmed by the impressive view of Tokyo Tower from the balcony of my room (the lighting is also beautiful. Depending on the day of the week, you can enjoy two types of lighting, so please check the Tokyo Tower website).
For meals, I had room service and the French restaurant on the 33rd floor, and it was nice to eat while looking at Tokyo Tower from my room, and the view from the 33rd floor was also good and open, and I had a lively conversation with my friends who came to visit. (It might be a bit hot by the window in the coming season.)
There were many foreign staff, but the Japanese staff's service was excellent and attentive, as expected. The clientele was mostly Western (because it was cherry blossom viewing season?)
The facilities seemed a bit old, but the location with a close view of Tokyo Tower is no wonder that it is popular with both Japanese and foreigners. From the room, you could see Zojoji Temple and the Skytree in the distance. I would have also liked to take a walk in Shiba Park, which is visible below, if it had been sunny (unfortunately it was raining. And the cherry blossoms were late this year, so we missed the cherry blossom viewing).
Check-in is crowded after 3pm. Check-out is crowded between 11:30am and 12:30pm, so we chose the express check-out, which was smooth. (They also looked after our luggage for us.)
Miyuki Nishikawa on concierge was very pleasant and patient listening to all my requests and made numerous restaurant reservations
The top floor restaurants and the sky lounge offer excellent views for breakfast or evening drinks.
The overall level of service and cleanliness was fantastic and I hope to experience the same should we return to Tokyo in the future
