For our first ever visit to Tokyo we choose this hotel primarily for its location and we trust The Mercure brand a lot. Ginza is a very affluent area where you will find all the high end department stores and designer label boutiques. If shopping isn’t your thing you will also be spoilt for choice with all The fantastic bars and restaurants in this area. The elevator in the hotel brings you straight down to the underground Metro station from Where you can easily get around this huge city. We also choose this hotel for its proximity to the train station from which all the bullet trains depart. The hotel itself is well designed and beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious spotless and soundproof, you would never know you were in the middle of a huge sprawling city. The staff we met were extremely friendly which goes without saying in Japan and I would totally recommend This hotel for a cosy Tokyo stay.

We stayed 3 nights at the Mercure Tokyo Ginza and found this hotel to be a very good and central location when you visit Tokyo. The area is very close to the high fashion street that houses the big luxury brand stores. The hotel also has a McDonald’s on the ground floor which is very convenient. Breakfast 🍳 buffet was limited choice but good quality and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Rooms n bathroom were well appointed and maintained clean. Absolute value for money in a very expensive Tokyo city. While check in they had some confusion on the rates to apply and it took almost 20 mins to sort it out, which was the only regret.

Our first and definitely last stay because the hotel is closing down.
I picked this hotel over the other Accor properties because of its central location
We booked a room for 3 from 10 to 14 June.
I must say it is a waste to close down this very well-maintained old dame.
Unlike other Accor properties, the lounge here welcomes all Accor members regardless of status. Very generous of the hotel. It offers some light snacks and drink on a few afternoons per week.
If the hotel continues to welcome guests, I think we’ll be back.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your experience and for choosing our hotel. We are delighted to hear that you appreciated our central location and found our hotel well-maintained. It is indeed with a heavy heart that our hotel will be closed at the end of Aug. It’s unfortunate that this was your first and last stay due to our closure, but your positive remarks mean a lot to us. Your kind words about our lounge welcoming all Accor members and the generosity of our light snacks and drinks offerings are greatly appreciated. We are glad to know that these aspects of our service stood out to you. Thank you once again for your thoughtful review. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back at another Accor property in the future. Sincerely, Mercure Tokyo Ginza

Stayed here for a total of five nights on two separate occasions: booked the Deluxe Queen room but was upgraded to the Premier Queen room on my return.
The location of the hotel is in an ideal spot in Ginza - was able to walk to several malls and shops without even needing to take the subway and there were lots of great eateries nearby.
My initial room (1117) had lots of space and the layout meant that it was situated in a corner next to the housekeeping room and the ice machine. While there were no next door neighbors, the soundproofing was quite poor as I could hear the thudding of the footsteps from the guests above, which was quite disruptive and meant that I was at the mercy of the occupants and their sleeping behavior. The ice machine was also located outside my bedroom, and around 12:45am, one of the guests made a lot of noise filling their ice bucket.
These disturbances resulted in a lack of sleep and I complained to the front desk after breakfast, and spoke to Ms Ran, who helped to change my room to 817, which didn’t have any guests above or an ice machine outside the room.
The new room was quiet but from 10pm to 11pm, I heard banging and thuds from above or next door that sounded like housekeeping was cleaning and moving things around. I contacted the front desk to complain but one of the male staff said it wasn’t housekeeping; however, I knew it was them because I saw a delivery guy moving towels and linens from the truck to the 8th floor, plus the noises stopped after my complaint. It seems they deliver laundry and other things late at night, hence this may be reason for the noises that other previous guests have complained about.
Ms Ran was apologetic about the noises and upgraded me to the Privilege room on my return visit (1018), which came with complimentary drinks, and Ran-sama was so sweet as she even provided wafers and a little note welcoming me back.
The Privilege room was slightly quieter, except for one night, when the next door neighbor brought his friends over around 9pm and they were yakking on, laughing and making a ruckus for nearly two hours. I called the front desk to complain but not sure if they did anything but the guests finally left close to 11pm.
Not sure how this hotel can improve their soundproofing but they really need to monitor their housekeeping employees, inform the guests about not making noise late at night or patrol the halls so that other guests can have a good night’s rest.
As for the cleanliness of the room and bathroom, felt that it was quite clean but the room has a bit of dust particles, probably from the carpet or sofa.
I really like the location so will be coming back on my next trip to Tokyo; hopefully, this hotel can resolve the issues highlighted above.
A special thanks to Ran-sama for upgrading me to the Privilege Room, listening to my grievances and trying to resolve them. It’s because of her that I will come back to this hotel. :)

Perfect spot for proximity to Tokyo Station, and the rest of the city via subway/bus. From the perspective of an American who travels for work a lot, this hotel is everything you’d need, and at a far more reasonable price than the name brand options in the area (not to mention the luxury properties), Hotel had a more upscale feel than I was expecting, stately color scheme and decorations, and while our room (was traveling with my daughter) wasn’t spacious, it had everything we needed and the beds were extremely comfortable. Tried the restaurant for breakfast one day. Not enough coffee, but otherwise it was fine if unmemorable. You have to get vouchers for the meal from the front desk then take them to the host, presumably that’s how they know to charge you for the meal. Not sure why we can’t just tell the host what room we’re in and how many in our party and then they tell the desk or whatever. Just seemed like an extra, and unnecessary, step. With no kind of status with that brand there was a charge (1,000 yen/hr) for late checkout.
But this was a convenient, comfortable, clean hotel that was a good value.

The credit card didn't work for me when I arrived due to hotel ATM is very old .. all my cards were not compatibal with thier device although I use them all over the world and we had to turn online tobpay ...no baggs services also during checkbin or out ... The bathroom threshold is high and does not erupt the elderly, and also the small size of the room, as well as cleanliness, rooms, stops at 3 pm... Breakfast is not diverse and very limited and the quality is also low.. The location is very excellent. Notes in Tokyo that the devices payment does not correspond to international cards in many shops and this is surprising

At the price we paid, the location right next to Ginza is sure value for money. Our stay also comes with free breakfast which has a good spread. The breakfast lounge also converts to a Executive Lounge between 12nn to 6pm as well but I think only during weekdays. Staff is quite efficient and friendly.

Fantastic hotel, very clean, with big rooms. We enjoyed our time in this hotel; the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was also really fresh and catered for local and Western diets. Located in a great area close to train stations, restaurants, cafes, Ginza shopping centre - a perfect location for Japan. I would recommend this hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful and patient with our requests.

Stayed 5 nights on business trip - my 2nd stay in 6 months. Hotel is well located for transport (Ginza Line), shopping and eating options. Excellent restaurant just 1 min walking distance (Tofuro). Superior Room with Twin Beds or Queen Bed is of good size and good standard for Tokyo. Western style breakfast is available each morning in a comfortable dining room and is worth the additional cost and convenience. Staff are multilingual and speak good English. Service standards are outstanding. There are always multiple staff at reception 24 hrs 7 days waiting and willing to assist with anything you need. They are a real asset to this hotel and one of the key reasons I booked for a 2nd stay.

I booked a room for two nights. When I checked in, the male staff at the front desk asked for a higher price, which was not what I had specified when I made the reservation. When I showed my reservation certificate, I was admitted as usual. When I left, it happened to be handled by the same male staff. I paid all the fees in cash. When I asked for a receipt, I had to wait 15 minutes for the receipt, which already felt a bit strange. After returning to Hong Kong, I found that the hotel had deducted the cost of an extra night's stay from my credit card account without authorization. I contacted the agent and the hotel via email. After many back and forths, the hotel finally admitted that it was their mistake. The overcharged price will be deposited into my credit card account, but every time I go back and forth, I lose the currency exchange price twice. Overall, the hotel is a good choice. The location is convenient and the rooms are comfortable and clean. However, the front desk staff lacked professionalism and I suffered losses due to their mistakes.

If you’re a large group with luggage take one (or 2) of the new London black cab style taxis. Good value at about Y7,000 (no tip of course..). Otherwise take the Akasaka subway line to Higashi Ginza and it’s a short cab ride from there.
Once you’re in the hotel use the Ginza subway station (5 minutes’ walk), or Ginza Itchome station, which is directly below the hotel but is on a slightly less useful line.
There are more places to choose from in the Ginza area.
