This quality hotel is conveniently situated in the town of Fukuoka. It is on a main shopping street and close to a mall offering stores and different kinds of restaurants. We experienced a Japanese Shabu meal here. It is a kind of fondue type meal where you cook your own meat and vegetables! The hotel does offer a great choice of food. It also has an excellent shopping floor selling gorgeous clothing, souvenirs beauty rooms etc. The reception area is large and interesting. The bedrooms and bathrooms are well equipped and comfortable. Stay here and you may bump into some famous sumo wrestlers, we did !!
Good service but physical facilities could be updated. Corridor smells funny at least 6th floor. But good quality was kept at the front desk. Their local advice was very helpful. Also, the location was bit off from the major tourist attractions.
Stay in new otani for 4 nights. Not a bad hotel. Although it is not new but it is clean. Room is huge like any other hotels in the world. Plenty of amenities and addition things such as ironing board, international adapter and weighting can be borrow for free. Breakfast is good but the menu didn't change throughout my stay. Bathroom and toilet is big. However, the only issue us language barrier. They have difficulty to understand English but they tried their best to understand us and very courteous. And hotel.in Fukuoka are very strict with their check in time that is 2pm. In term, of location, a slight out from tenji shopping, canal city and hakata but walkable by foot in 15-20 minutes. There are two big gloceries supermarket next to the hotel. Plenty of restaurants choices. Easy access to airport as airport bus is just next to the hotel and metro as it is just in front of the hotel. We took the airport shuttle bus to airport and it is very easy as u just get on the bus take a coupon and pay as you exit and it cost 280 yen only. However, if I am going to Fukuoka again, I may not stay there again as I prefer to stay in hotel next to a shopping center. The best option is to stay neear to the hakata station as there are many shoppings including daiso and sushi train restaurants nearby.…
My husband and I stayed one night to celebrate my birthday we were not dissapointed the hotel was clean & modern, spacious room polite staff & excellent service Otani Hotel has 4~5 restaurant to choose from. This hotel location is very convenient 10~15 walk to Tenjin underground Shopping Mall, Museum, Shrine & Temple nearby,Local & Shinkansen Bullet train, Bus stops are not very far.
The New Otani is a good quality hotel which is entrally placed within easy walking distance of the Tochoji, Shofukuji and Jotenji Temples. It is also close to the main station and plenty of shops & restaurants. Therefore it is ideal for tourists. As everywhere in Japan the bedroom was on the small side with limited storage, based on other reviews I think we may have been lucky and got a refurbished room because I couldn't find any fault with the furniture and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was immaculately clean with good quality toiletries, a powerful shower and nice towels. The restaurant for breakfast wasn't too big so queues formed but the staff were very efficient and it didn't take long to get seated. There was a reasonable buffet selection and eggs could be cooked to order (although my omelette was undercooked). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would book again.…
This hotel is great. We arrived at 10.30am although check in was not until 2pm we could store our bags and start exploring. Please note like everything in Japan if the check in time says 2pm then it is exactly that however every hotel we stayed in were happy to store our bags so we could get out. The hotel is very well located in the centre of Fukuoka and easily accessible for both bus and subway trains. The rooms are nice and comfortable and of a decent size. Storage can be a bit limited for a longer stay. Over all a great experience.
Brief 2 night stay at this hotel, used as base for travelling to rugby games in Oita. As with most Japanese hotels, room consisted of 2 single beds. Room had air conditioning, hairdryer, safe and fuly stocked bathroom toiletries. Had a good buffet breakfast in the Greenhouse restaurant. Handy 7/11 just around the corner. Hotel bar downstairs in cellar.
Lovely hotel - did a great breakfast in both Western and Eastern style. Good location and very central. Very modern city which was very welcoming. Room size fairly average. Lovely waterfront restaurants nearby.
We found every facility we used in this four stars type hotel as above average. Good and spacious rooms, quality furniture and appliances including in-room complimentary tea-coffee, good wifi, etc Centrally located; with a subway entrance right by the hotel and one subway stop from Tenjin Shopping area; From the hotel restaurants we only visited the breakfast place (forgot the name); although we only had coffee and croissant, not the buffet, it's was fine and anyhow, there are restaurants and cafes options within walking distance. In the other hand, we found a certain lack of english mastering in the concierge personnel, but otherwise, very gentile and attentive. The hotel is not within walking distance from Hakata Shinkansen Train Station but a taxi ride would be around 12-15 USD.…
The rooms are very small and very outdated, especially with IT plugs, etc. Bathroom you dry yourself outside as it’s too small. Built 30+ years ago, not for international market. 20 of us descended into cocktail bar on Sunday at 9.30 PM. They really did not want us there. Two bar attendents, one slowly started to serve us whilst the other kept polishing glasses. Obviously his job was not to demean himself serving! We had our drinks after many complaints. A 3.5 hotel at most.
