Located a minute's walk from Sannomiya Station, the b kobe is a short walk from Ikuta Shrine, famous for its prayers and marriages. There are 13 stores on the basement 1st floor and 2nd floor lobby level, including a popular Kobe beef steakhouse which is a standalone store that cannot be reserved in advance. There is also a restaurant that offers an Italian buffet breakfast, a sports gym, hot yoga, hair salon, and a place for English conversation lessons, all of which help ensure a fulfilling stay.

All of our requests were superbely ignored and we ended up in a room that had nothing to do with what we wanted. And of course, the F/D staff claimed the place was full (which surprised me as we were able to check-in 2 and a half hr before the official check-in time..). Room was as welcoming as a monk cell, and less spacious. The shower looked like that found in night trains. The location is excellent: a 2mn walk from the station, surrounded by numerous bars and restaurants. About the only asset of this charmless hotel.

Location and vicinity OK, acceptable. Catering and traffic are convenience. Many shops, restaurants and you can relax for half day. The environment and hygiene of the hotel is good except the breakfast needs improvement.

Pretty basic Japanese ‘business hotel’ to the high standard of cleanliness and comfort in small spaces found in the country. Booked on Asia Miles. Could be the reason they switched us to a lower quality room (see below) THE BAD ESCALATOR ONLY FROM GROUND TO LOBBY. No elevator. WHAT A PAIN with lots of luggage and kids’ stroller in and out for a few days. THE SAME BREAKFAST EVERYDAY so I recommend not to get it included with the room if you’re staying a few days. Not good for people who want western breakfast but somewhat interesting for people who want to try some Japanese breakfast foods at a very basic quality level. ABSOLUTELY CRAP COFFEE but luckily they have very good free coffee in the hotel lobby. I filled a thermos and took it to the restaurant. STAFF NICE ENOUGH BUT WE HAD A VERY POOR CHECK IN EXPERIENCE including them not having the room type we booked and that was even after confirming our booking by phone. Earnest effort to rectify problems, but not really that apologetic and no compensation offered. Details below. 1) We arrived at 8pm. Long day, tired. We were sent to park in the hotel’s building. We drive around the 1 way streets to get there. The hotel parking was full. The attendant was very rude. You think like why the hell does the front desk staff not know the parking is full!? Have to drive back around to the front of of the hotel and unload the family in the lobby, actually not the lobby, at the bottom of an escalator leading to the lobby as from ground floor to the lobby there is no elevator. The staff gave directions to alternative parking a few blocks away. Drove around trying to find it. Frustrating as hell! It’s also 2500 yen compared with the hotel parking at 1800 yen and no compensation offered by the hotel for the mistake, hassle or expense. Had to go get the car and move it to the hotel parking the next day. 2) Finally got to the room. It had no bathtub. We booked a room with a bathtub. We have kids that need a baths on our 3 night stay. Up and down the elevator to check some other rooms offered with bathtubs because clearly they had no rooms left of the type we booked. Finally we get settled. Find out later the room we got is lower level room than the one we booked. No compensation offered. THE GOOD Good level of English for those who speak English but not Japanese. Great Location near the station and lots of restaurants and shopping. Seemed better than the Motomachi area. Lots of ‘girlie’ clubs too so the high heeled police ladies and bunny girls are out on the sidewalks at night advertising their clubs. Good or bad depending on how closed minded and conservative you are. Pretty standard for Japanese cities though and not a seedy or threatening feel, that is unless you are closed minded and conservative. Great free coffee in the lobby. Very clean and well maintain building and room. THE VERDICT Would I stay again? In the area? Definitely. In the hotel? I wouldn’t go out of my way to try to book this hotel again, like it missed the chance to be my ‘go to hotel’ in Kobe but if it was the best deal in the area at the time, I’d probably book again. Will definitely prebook parking and triple confirm my room though.

Close to Sannomyia station this hotel is very convenient for proffessional trip in Kobe city or even close by. A large number of restaurant is available close to the hotel. The quality of the room and the hotel services are very good.

The rooms are compact, but the toilet opens by itself when you get close and the air conditioner works great! There is a laundry—plan on the 500y price per load to both wash and dry (then plan on strewing your clothes around your room to get them completely dry.) There was basically no view, since our room faced the inner court, which overlooks the escalator. Heads up, the beds are HARD!
