Kaden, a top quality authentic ryokan and kaiseki restaurant, strives to provide visitors with the ultimate Japanese experience. In form, in taste, in overall hospitality, we communicate the delicate sensibility found in various aspects of the Japanese culture: the spirit of moderation as expressed in Noh theatre as Jo-ha-kyu; etiquette sought in tea ceremony; elegance sophisticated through four centuries under the Heian period; sensitive yet bold expressions found in the Tale of Genji, and the tradition and craftsmanship of Kyoto, a city with a rich history of 1200 years. It is our hope that you will find a culturally and emotionally luxurious moment with us at Kaden.

City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.

This is our first time in Japan and our first experience with the traditional Japanese hotel. This hotel is perfect for my family of 5 and the location is excellent! Its location is in close to limousine bus stop and 2 major metros stations. The staff is exceptionally great and

This is multi story ryokan in a great location near a subway station. Kaiseki meal was excellent, I just wish there had been an English translation of what we were enjoying! The baths are separate for sexes but very comfortable and relaxing. Would highly recommend.

We had stayed in a Ryokan in the Gion area on a previous visit but this Ryokan is more centrally located. Most guests seemed Asian and though we tried both Japanese and Western breakfasts, even the western one was not what you would have expected. This is not a complaint as we'd

If you are trying out a Ryokan for the first time, Kazuki could be a good start. The location is not too far from the subway and is very quiet. However, the room was not too impressive. It was quite dated (I feel it needs refurbishing). The size was comfortable (based Japanese

Location is perfect in the city center and the public baths are well decorated in Japanese style. Employees are very welcoming. But this place is not a ryokan as the name seems to precise, more than 30 rooms, so the private atmosphere as we expect in a ryokan is not really here.
