Neighborhood
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.

Hotel is conveniently located on left side of kyoto tower with the train station at rear your rear. Upon exiting the kyoto station, head towards the bus terminal exit/ kyoto tower. Look out for postal office on left followed by lawson convenient shop. It's about 6mins of travel from rail station to hotel. Warmly greeted by the receptionist upon arrival of hotel and was pleasantly pleased that our rooms are available at 1pm. The staff handed a thoughtful bundle of kids bag containing toothbrush, bedroom slippers. On top of that, there are a range of facial products including a variety of pillow for your use. The twin bed is comfortable and large by comparison, equipped with large TV, strong AC and fully equipped Bathroom. The only disappointment was the poor WIFI which was intermittent from our room 507. Coin-operated Laundromat and dry is available at level 1. Ice machine and vending machine is also at the same vinicity. In addition, the hotel offers a discounted ticket to the kyoto tower. I would recommend this hotel for travellers. It is kids friendly for sure.

Great location(very strategic), good room size (I stayed in a room with 2 twin beds), they provide a kettle, smol fridge and hair dryer. All Staffs are very friendly and helpful. The amenities are the most complete: -body towel.  -sponge.  -facial bar soap (it is so foamy)  -facial cleansing oil -moisturiser -sun screen+body milk -toner -2 types of bath massage salts -2 types of beauty masks (Yes, THEY PROVIDE FACIAL MASKS AS AMENITIES!)  -2 types of combs -a hair pin (it's a simple one but WOW! Never knew they provide us with such thing before!)  -a hair tie (totally love it. It is simple but it's totally useful for females with long hair)  -shaving razor and shaving gel -after shaving gel -shower cap - 3 types of teabags (I think, not sure, didn't really pay attention to the types of tea), a type of sachetted coffee, a creamer and a sugar.  The amenities are placed at the lobby and each person can take 1 each (which is great, so if you don't need it, you don't need to take it, no waste). I don't think they provide a small sewing kit (or maybe I didn't search enough) but hey! Things are pretty awesome already! They default set the alarm to ring at 6:30 am daily but of course you can change it to your liking x)  Totally love this hotel!

The rooms are a bit small but that's given in Japan, and probably all the more in Kyoto. But they are in reasonable size, and nicely decorated, so I would say it is small and cozy. Hotel staffs are very helpful. And most importantly, it is conveniently located only 5 mins walking from Kyoto Station. Would pick this place all over again if I had to.

Arrived here from Tokyo with Shinkansen. Exit from the gate that is facing Kyoto tower. It is pretty near, only 0.5km from the train and bus station. Receptionist is very friendly and helpful. Extra amenities like face mask, SPF lotion, shower cap can be picked near the receptionist. Room is pretty small, only fit for 2 adults. Bedding is big. The only issue is wifi connection that is bad and always interrupted. The place is only 30 minutes to Nishiki market. If you are a tourist, It is better to buy one day bus pass to go around the places. We were informed that bus is more efficient than train as Kyoto only has 2 train operators. There is Lawson mini mart near the hotel and just at the alley across the street, there are rows of places to drink and eat.
