Neighborhood
Nishijin District
A district with a long textile heritage, ancient Kyoto is still alive in the Nishijin District. Studded with its weaving factories, tea houses, and onsen, the neighborhood is charming and peaceful with a self-possessed air. Less traveled than other parts of the city, it is a district where you can take it at your own pace. Visitors can explore the many weaving and cloth houses, the free kimono shows, and the many shops selling traditional clothing and goods. Showcasing architecture with sloping roofs and wooden reliefs dating to decades past, the streets in the Nishijin District transport you back in time, making them a joy to wander.

I really liked this hotel. Staff was super polite and gentle, the hotel is beautiful and clean, it even has some vending machines inside, which is great so you don't have to go outside to buy some beverages. Best breakfast I had in JP. The continental and the Japanese one.

Because of disabilities,I requested a barrier-free room to share with my granddaughter for a conference, and we got a very large room. Service was excellent, even when the employees didn't understand much English. They were kind, patient, and eager to help. I saw no one smoking

"for disabilities, ask to be not too far from the elevator."
"We stayed on Level 3 and our view was a building across perhaps ask the higher floor to get the view of the Imperial Palace."
"There may be few rooms left. Use their excellent Japanese restaurants."
"Skip the breakfast."
""Small double room" that we booked was almost too small for two people, but it would be OK for one person. Keep that in mind if traveling as a couple."
