We stayed 2 nights (room 401). The bathroom tiles are falling down, joints are rotten. Room cleaning is very basic (rubbish, new water and cleaning of the sheets in the linen bin - which is also all rotten...). We had a big bug in the room which scared my wife big time... Last, breakfast can do better, especially offer a Chinese option as i heard a few local customers complaining about it...
Zhaoxing is a small town which sadly is a bit run-down now, but could be beautiful as the setting is lovely. We booked the Indigo Lodge as it looked like the best place to stay in Zhaoxing. It was OK but not great - the rooms were comfortable and quite large and the showers were good but the breakfast was pretty bad (basic & poor quality). There is no English spoken in this town and none of the restaurants looked appealing so we bought some fruit for dinner and ate it in our room!
Wooden Hotel Inside this old village Dong centrally located near the show place. No elevators but staffs take care of your luggage we were there on the 1st fllor over the street but it's a very quiet area near interest points.
We stayed at the Zhaoxing Indigo Hotel for one night. The room is spacious simply furnished, clean and comfortable. The bathroom is small but the shower was good and clean. The breakfast western style ,was poor, served on one plate, with no hot milk . For one night the hotel is good enough. The main advantage in this place is its location in the center of town.
This is a beautifully designed hotel - a rare example of highly elegant modernism (a gorgeous play of concrete against wood) on the inside, while still fitting the general tenor of this wonderful Dong village perfectly on the outside. The rooms are also bright and inviting, with friendly communal spaces and a place to hang laundry on the fourth floor (the hotel will also supply you with laundry detergent). And the air-conditioning works well, the showers are good, and the rooms are kept sparklingly clean. Not done yet: there is a really friendly and helpful staff, who speak decent English, the prices are remarkably good, and the place is excellently located in the middle of town. The only weak spot is the Continental breakfast, which is mostly dull toast and an egg. But overall I highly recommend this place.…
