Wildhomestay is the perfect getaway from Shanghai for nature lovers. The owners have found just the right balance between comfort while experiencing a real remote village nestled in mountains planted with tea bushes. The food was delicious - their all day menu has a nice selection of simple yet tasty dishes and the pre-ordered dinner meals are great. For families with children, the family rooms are perfect. There is also an outdoor playground with a fun water slip and slide. There is a river nearby which is a nice family destination if you don’t want to hike up... There is a really nice national park nearby: Damingshan. It’s a nice 45 minute taxi ride away. The landscape is amazing and it’s possible to go up via gondolas and down via a 300 meter slide. It’s a very nice and fun day out!…
Having lived in Shanghai for many years, it has been extremely challenging to find a weekend getaway to escape all of the hustle and bustle of the big city. Wildhometsay nails it. It is a perfect balance of comfort while still being off the beaten track. We visited in the winter and it was very cozy. Think whiskey by the fire and BBQ bonfires. We cannot recommend this place enough for people who live in the surrounding big cities or for visitors to China looking to find something a little different than the normal day trips or one night trips from Shanghai. We look forward to staying again soon!
The guest house is located just in the borders of traditional hui style village, lying in the valleys with the mountain all around! It is a perfect location to escape from the city for s couple of days and forget about all of the struggles. The host is doing her best to assure the guests with entertainment, great food etc. For our group they have prepared a hiking, swimming in a waterfall with a healthy and tasty lunch in a field, bicycle ride, yoga class and exercises on a roof top with a magnificent view at the entire area! During the evening we had a super tasty bbq and a bu ch of healthy snacks, and on the next day home made noodles... best noodles ever!! Really highly recommended!!
If you want a remote nature getaway away from the tourist crowds of huangshan in an authentic chinese village, then this is it! We came for 4 days to cycle & hike- tons of great routes for exploring. It's not super easy to get to but that's the point! The layout/space of the rooms were comfortable and spacious, the food is simple but tasty (although if you are a picky eater or have really specific dining habits, then you may need to supplement). Every day for breakfast, they try to give you something a bit different and there are various dinner options- hot pot/bbq/farmers dinner. Staff are helpful!
We had a terrific stay at Wildhomestay during the October holiday! 23 friends enjoying good food, beautifully designed rooms, warm welcome, high quality bikes and many well priced drinks :-)). The children loved the private attic room for gaming and splashed away on the water slide. Pigs, dog and cats around made it even more fun.
