We were really keen to do a cooking class in Sri Lanka and were so happy we happened upon this place! It was 100% authentic, held in the back kitchen of the guesthouse and was just the two of us! We were so lucky to have this experience and the food was amazing. This is a relatively new undertaking they... More

Good location, just off the main road, quiet but still close to the beach. Rooms were quite basic. Had large A/C room but no light in the bathroom so had to have very quick showers after sunset! Clean, good mosquito net. Hard pillows (as everywhere). Very good whale watching tour tips! Breakfast was very basic - if you like your... More

We didn't stay the night there, unfortunately we did have massages there, so called Ayurvedic massages. They used cheap aromatic oil( not herbal Ayurvedic one) the lady had bad energy and was unkind ( frowning and yelling ) the boy was really sweet and kind but didn't speaker basic English , such as "more" and "less" both of them were... We have been here for a night in December. The position and the structure are great, also breakfast was good and staff was really kind but.... there are a couple of things they should definitely improve! First of all the room was "incomplete", there was just the bed and a shelf, moreover it was not clean at all! We travelled... More

We stayed at Mount Garden for 5 weeks, and were taken care of like part of the family! The lunches served on banana leaves were a regular part of our day! They also made delicious fresh vegetable soups for us each night! We definitely would return!!!!

Following a hectic schedule touring the inland and upland landmarks it was a pleasant feeling looking forward to chilling out by the sea. This hotel/guesthouse is a little piece of heaven. Just off the main road up a little side-street it offers peace and solitude whilst only being minutes walking distance from the beach and restaurants. It dominates other close-by... More

Just returned from 15 nights in Sri Lanka, after touring the island wanted a relaxing end to the holiday. Looked at quite a few and then found a little gem tooked away off the Galle Road, Mount Garden is family owned and has 16 rooms, Dianna and her family could not have made us more welcome even down to asking... After booking through agoda to stop at Amanda resort we were moved to this hotel because of a so called mistake. See review of Amanda resort for that debacle! Anyway our stay at mount garden was just ok. The breakfast was good, lovely fresh bread every morning but apart from that there was a general cant be bothered attitude to... More

We stayed as a family of 5. 3 small children and 2 adults for 6 nights. We had a A/C room. We can highly recommend this guesthouse. It is just less than 5 minutes away from the beach (westside) and the guesthouse is quiet and no traffic. The owners are family and are always there to help you. We had... More

Stayed at Mount Gardens due to a mix up with our other accommodation in Mirissa. This is a family run accommodation who made us feel welcome as well as offering us assistance and help whenever required. Our double room was clean and spacious with, en-suite bathroom/shower, AC, a fan and mosquito net. The room was basic and lacking some decorative... More
