Was due to stay at this property on 1/1/20 and when we arrived discovered the property to be closed for the week, despite the fact that the property had confirmed the booking. Five of us were left scrambling for another place to stay. If I could give this property a negative ten rating I would.

I am really shocked by the state of this place. Especially the amount they charged us and what we got was appalling. Please dont get misled by these pictures. Basic facilities. Manager Romlas is nice he is trying his best to keep the place going

This resort is by the main road 10km before Kalpitiya and facing the lagoon. Its 20 min drive from here to go dolphin watching. They have 5 different rooms each unique from each other. For example one room which is small has a bathroom much bigger than the room, another room which is very big has a small bathroom and another room has a seated area. They also have 2 interconnecting rooms as well. The bed was very comfortable. A/C was working and rooms were clean with clean sheets and towels. They have a common fridge where you can buy your beer and wine from the nearby town and store and cool. The restaurant and seating ares don't have A/C as its an open area. What we liked most was the friendly staff and good tasty food. They prepare what you like. Also we stayed on Saturday night and had the whole resort only to ourselves. WiFi is available only the in the common seating area. Their swimming pool looked clean but we did not use it. Since the resort is by the side of the main road, in some rooms you can hear the vehicle sounds as vehicles speed by on the main road. The biggest nightmare we faced was their credit card machine was broken when we had to check out. So we had to go with the manager to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash and settle the bill.

We stayed here one night, this is calm place specially very close to the St’ Anne’s Catholic Shrine. Below are few experiences that I had during our stay. If the management could improve the cleanliness of rooms, towels, washrooms and if they could replace the broken items (ex:- TV connection, tap in washroom) this will be great place. One thing I have to mention here. Roy’s food are amazing,we really enjoyed it.

The place has potential, however the maintenance seems to be at a bare minimum with the air conditions not working properly, badly lit rooms due to issues with electrical connections and a lack of lights, lack of water pressure (adjoining bathrooms opening a tap means you have no water in the shower) and no proper television connections for example. The staff though eager to please seems stretched and the general attitude is that guests will get on with what is available and/or possible- and therefore is a very average experience in all aspects.

Really enjoyed sitting in the deck chairs taking in the view & the staff were so helpful, even preparing vegan meals for me. Lovely place to stay! The only negative was the smell of burning trash from across the street.

Great pool, great staff, great view and food. It was a perfect stop while traveling by car in Sri Lanka. Super friendly staff. Restaurant was an awesome surprise. We loved the food, specially the fries with coconut oil, so delicious.

Hats off to Dennis who is doing a wonderful job with a personalized service to all his guests. His personality is a huge plus point to the hotel. He never fails to deliver. Roy is a bundle of magic at the kitchen and makes food like you have never tasted before. I am talking about his Sri Lankan cuisine. Makes wonderful prawn and crab dishes. A must try for the visitor. Asanka, always has a courteous smile on his face and never fails to satisfy the guest. These are the pluses at the hotel. On a negative side the hotel definitely needs some very urgent upgrading in terms of the reception, rooms and wash room areas. This is a must if you need to market this property to the next level. Cleanliness is of essence here and an addition of a couple of employees will do the trick. At Present everyone is multi tasking, hence the lapses! More activity around the hotel is needed such as water sports in the beautiful lagoon, out door dining, etc. I sincerely hope that my constructive criticism will be taken up by the management and wish to see improvement in this hotel soon.
