Ruwala resort was a place we badly wanted to visit and we booked the place with some amount of expectations. But at the entrance we realized that the hotel garden hadn’t been even swept for weeks. Pool was filled with dirt. Staff wasn’t ready to receive guests at all. They have no idea when we arrived. We had to cancel the booking after wasting more than 3 hours drive and find another place to spend the night

I stayed at resort for one night with my wife. The hotel is very beautiful and location was excellent...rooms are nice but no safety features and facilities...tea and coffee maker is terrible and safety locker didn't work.Windows lockers are didn't working...we stayed double full board category.restaurant food was terrible..don't have a buffet or la carte option.they serving what they want.restaurant staff and other staff members are not training and they didn't no about hotel management basics..this property is paradise..but poor management costly for hotel..the manager trying to do everything to satisfy customers but he can't do it because lack of training staff...really shame to see what happening to this kind of resort.

The hotel looks very nice. I went during festival time and there were less staff. The welcome was good and it was with a fresh juice. The rooms were clean and tidy. Some rooms had tv and some did not. The pool is very clean and have a baby pool too. Lagoon is just to see and not so clean to jump in. If there were staff I think you can have some boat rides in the lagoon too. Some birds come for drying and could take some photos. They have a superb tour which can be arranged. From hotel to wilpaththu jungle via lagoon and beach and then a Jeep ride and back to hotel. It s full day ride which is as a full board trip. The managers were very nice and the staff our very active. Management need to give some attention to improve the maintenance of wash rooms, bathing areas and the garden to look and be safe more. Weldone management for the given lovely stay. The food meals were superb taste.
