I have never seen like superb place to enjoined family with their vacations. Excellent hospitality, biggest surfing and kite surfing equipments and school in Sri Lanka. Well deserved training staff, supper accommodation, you can feel you actually in your home. Thank you Upul and his staff.
My husband and I enjoyed an 8-night stay at the De Silva Palm Resort. We had a wonderful time kiting every day and unwinding with a Lion Beer at the Wind Resort’s surf bar in the evening. I was happy to have a hot shower at the Palm Resort (some other kite resorts only have cold outdoor showers). Everyone was friendly and the kite instructors were fantastic. We were sad to leave.
Place is very relaxed and calm. Rooms are spaciously big and more like live in the nature. so many foreigners visiting this place more than locals and they providing a friendly service to customers. overall foods is very good and it have open bar area which is where people can hangout. most importantly they have kite surfing and wind surfing. great stay and i wont think twice to come again this place.
From the moment of arrival to departure, the warm friendly staff lead by GM Dilan and assistant Natalya made my 12 days kiting boarding experience truly fantastic. I was also fortunate to share a share a few enjoyable beers with the owner Upul DeSilva who was visiting for a week or so. The rooms at the Palmresort are clean and comfortable and the public areas, pool and lobby well kept and inviting. Thee Palmresort is relatively new so the gardens are just becoming established – which will improve the overall appearance once complete. The Palmresort is located a short 5min walk to the Windresort which offers more basic (non A/C) accommodation. All the action happens at the Windresort – bar, restaurant, kit hire and boat to the DeSilva beach hut. The bar is manned by, very friendly and warm, Chinna – he also assists serving in the restaurant and taking ala carte orders for lunch and dinner. Both locations, Palmresort and Windresort offer either Full Board or Bed and Breakfast. Bed and Breakfast guests can opt to take the buffet lunch (LKR1,200) and dinner (LKR1,800) or chose from the ala carte menu – I chose the bed and breakfast for more flexibility. Dining options outside the resort are limited – the are a few nearby resorts that allow outside guest and a couple of local restaurants. The kiteboarding in the directly accessible lagoon was perfect – a short boat ride to Desilva beach hut on the other side of the lagoon. The water is flat and waist deep -making it ideal for beginners. For the more adventurous open water kiting in the ocean is a short 100m walk from the DeSilva beach hut. There is a large selection of good quality renal equipment available and some toys like a kite foil and kite surfboard to try too. The instructors are warm, friendly and very helpful – I had the beginner B lesson package with Steve. The management and staff are very flexible, accommodating and fair – following my lessons I rented equipment and 2 other the other members of the team, Danusha and Hasanka, kindly rode my board back up wind on many occasions. The team keep a sharp eye open for all guests and work together with team members from other kite resorts to ensure that all guests have a safe and enjoyable experience. Although the lagoon is very safe, most beginners require the rescue boat a few times – expertly handled by both Hasanka and Danusha. Some of the other guests and I enjoyed more than a few beers with Steve, Hasanka and Danusha to thank them for their help – a good night for all. For expert and beginners alike the DeSilva resorts offers something for everyone and budget – the team members and location makes it an easy choice.…
