We have 3 lagoon front cabanas. Anawasal has fantastic views and is close to isolated islands and beaches. You can learn to kitesurf right next door and we can also arrange on request dolphin watching and snorkeling excursions as well as stand up paddle boarding. You can also kitesurf right outside our property. Our onsite restaurant serves delicious local cuisine and if you have any dietary restrictions we will be happy to accommodate your requirements.
No words can describe this place properly.
But I try it anyway. For us it was the best experience in whole Sri Lanka! My friend and I stayed there for 5 Days.
Here you can have everything. Total relaxation just on the site (because there literally is everything you need, and if not they get it for you ;-)) or a lot of different tours which you can book with the hosts and go either by boat directly from the Jetty or by tuktuk directly from the property.
There are tours to go through the mangroves by boat, a tour to watch dolphins (we've seen like hundreds), a tour to go to Wilpattu Nationalpark to do a safari, a beach tour, a Massage, Yoga on the property and so on...
You really don't need to think about anything and you don't need to plan anything. Actually we had no plans when we came here and no idea what to do there but they got everything planned perfectly you just need to choose what you want to do one day ahead.
Everything really was so comfortable we felt even better than at home. The rooms were perfectly clean and the interior nicely decorated. I loved the shower the most, cause you can look at the stars while showering <3.
The hosts try to avoid garbage and especially plastics which made me very happy because I try to avoid plastics in my life too.
And on top of all is the outstanding kitchen. The food there is amazing! We had the Sri Lankan dinner every day and it was something totally different each evening. So we could learn a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine.
And if you like to drink a cocktail or something else, just ask for it they try to make it work.
This place literally is Paradise! I can totally recommend it if you are looking for some quiet days or especially for honeymoon.
You might think the prices are higher than at other places, but let you be told it is definitely worth it. You get much more than what you are paying for!
This hospitality and kindness of the staff, the deep relaxation you get there and just the whole experience there in the middle of nowhere between the mangroves is a experience worth more than you can buy with money.
I really hope to come back someday.
Wish you all the best!
From the moment we arrived we were so happy that we chose to stay at Anawasal. The location is beautiful and feels very relaxing. Shibi and her husband and the rest of the staff were all very friendly whilst also providing excellent service. We have a 6 month old baby travelling with us, and they were very flexible with timings for meals, trips, yoga etc to suit our needs , even serving us breakfast as late as we wanted (great when you are jet lagged after an overnight flight and in need of a lie in). The food was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed every meal, and would particularly recommend the Sri Lankan cuisine which they serve each evening (all prepared freshly each day). I also did a couple of yoga classes with Shibi which were really good and such a beautiful place to do the class (right next to the lagoon). The location also felt very safe for our baby to stay in and we particularly enjoyed using the pool with him.
Anawasal is the most relaxing place I have ever stayed. A true home away from home. Sheebi and her wonderful team made us feel like family. They are really helpful and will help organise anything you want from a safari in Wilpattu to kite surfing and diving. You must try Sheebis yoga even if you haven't practiced before! Out of this world!
We ate the best food here of our whole trip and the best people.
You won't regret your stay here! We extended by four days and wish we had stayed longer!

Our stay at Anawasal on Kalpitiya peninsula was amazing! Shibi and Dinesh were more than kind and trying to fulfill all our needs as a family of four. They provided us with lots of informations and helped us a lot. The breakfast and dinner we had there was really good and homemade by the friendly staff. The rooms are clean and beautiful, the garden and the pool are also amazing, very calming. The atmosphere on this property facing the lagoon, and in the surroundings is quiet and relaxing- away from all that hustle and bustle of the main roads and cities. You can join yoga classes with Shibi or learn how to kite surf with the neighbor hotel. We can highly recommend Anawasal to everyone who is looking for a comfortable and calm place for example after a long journey.

Anawasal is pure heaven! Shibi and her team are so kind and gentle and will make everything to make you feel like home! The hotel and rooms are very nice and well decorated! In one month travelling in Sri Lanka, it's also where we had the best food so far!! Everything was so tasty and every day different! You are directly on the laggoon and can enjoy free kayaking, go explore to the sea, or beaches etc.. i highly reccomend this place!! Thank's for all, hope to come back here someday!

The place is a masing. Close to the water and very quiet. We spend 3 nights here, after 3 weeks in India, we need to come down. Shiki, the owner is a amazing women, she will do everything to make you comfortable and happy. Mamma, the cock, she made the best food ever. And mammas 2 assistant was kind and very helpful. There is also 2 sweet dogs, Ana and Kurumba. We enjoy the place very much. We have nothing bad to say about Anawasal.

We spend 3 nights here and really enjoyed our stay. Service is absolutely fabuleous. Great food. Can be ordered anytime. The view over the lagoon is stunning. Swimming is difficult since the water is shallow.

Our time at Anawasal was lovely. The location is beautiful, the accommodation is simple but perfect. Lovely open bathrooms! The home cooked Sri Lankan dinners are highly recommended. If you eat seafood, make sure you eat the crab before you leave. We also highly recommend taking an early morning boat to the Eluvankulam entrance of Wilpattu National Park and doing a morning safari at the park. Shibi at Anawasal arranges all this for you. It was a real treat, both the sunrise boat ride on the lagoon and the safari in the park itself. We advise you to carry your own mosquito repellent! You're going to need it.
