Due to the incredible reviews, my family of about 40+ people went to this resort for an overnight stay. It should suffice to say that it was the worst place I've ever stayed at. The washrooms had no drainage so some rooms had a mini pool on the floor of their bathrooms. It was unaccessible. The comods were broken and leaking and many rooms didn't have a proper lock/key. The staff was rude and the rooms weren't even ready 2 hours after our check in time. We were waiting in the hot sun without a room, this includes little children and babies.

We may have came across as rude, since we didn't expect to see 40 plus people to came in with lunch packets and eate in our facility. We are deeply sorry to hear that your experience at our resort was unsatisfactory. We take all feedback seriously and would like to offer our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused. We understand that you and your family had high expectations based on our reviews and we regret that we were unable to meet those expectations. We apologize for the issues you experienced with the washrooms and the condition of the rooms. We will make sure to address these concerns with our maintenance team and ensure that they are fixed as soon as possible. We are also sorry to hear that you found our staff rude. This is certainly not the level of service that we strive to provide and we will use your feedback to improve our training and customer service. Regarding your check-in experience, we understand that waiting in the hot sun for two hours is not acceptable, especially with children and babies. I planned to spend one week here, but ended up staying for two. The atmosphere is great and the staff is so friendly. The pool is a really nice feature and there are always the most incredible sunsets. There are lots of great birds here that can be spotted from inside the resort and also from kayaking around the lagoon. The food here is also sooo good (especially if you love seafood/ want traditional Sri Lankan food)! I highly recommend staying here next time you are in Sri Lanka :)

I had a great experience at Valampuri Resort. I felt at home, all staff are very friendly and always willing to help. There are several activities such as kayaking, slackline, stand up paddle or kitesurfing (the most famous). All the traditional Sinhalese food that I tasted in the hotel restaurant were delicious. The place is very beautiful and the pool has an ideal temperature and the sunset from there is incredible.

Highly recommended this property. Good food, services. Very calm environment and suitable for families with children. Rooms are very clean and neat. Super view with swimming pool. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Serve local authentic foods.

We visited this resort end of Feb without much expectation because the hotel gave us a low rate comparatively to other resorts and mainly we wanted a simple getaway. One of the ideal location to have a group party-time or even to enjoy a relaxed time with less than a palm fingers of friends. However, not a romantic place for couples but, families with kids can have a good time as well. The hotel owner and the staff were very active, friendly and easy going. The breakfast and lunch was standard and regular but, the BBQ dinner was amazing and especially the service rendered from their hearts. The rooms are average and worth for price. These guys are specialized in water sports such as Kite Surfing, Kayaking, Boat Rides, Dolphin Watching etc. and helped us to do some free Kayaking in the lagoon. They have a charming swimming pool too. Overall we had a very satisfied stay and will definitely recommend to others. Thank you Valampuri Kite Resort team for making our short holiday memorable.…

We visited this location a few weeks back. I must say the location is beautiful. The staff was friendly & helpful. But I was really surprised & taken aback at the poor maintenance of the rooms & washrooms & the outdoor seating area close to the pier. The rooms were not cleaned & since there was a broom in the room we moved the badly constructed book rack & just cleaned up after ourselves, sweeping out cigarette ends & mineral water bottle seals out. It’s a lovely location but it’s maintained poorly & the hygienic factor is nil there. I truly wish the owners of this place maintain cleanliness & order which in turn will give them more visitors.
