The hotel was easy to find, with transit dropping you off less than 100 m from the entrance. It provided amazing views from the balconies and surrounding areas. The owner is a very nice woman who was extremely helpful with orienting us in Cinque Terre and the hotel. Breakfast was made to order due to covid, and was prompt and delicious each time. The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable. The bed was inviting, the bathroom was bright, stocked, and roomy, and there was lots or storage and TV channels for those looking. We were told the heat wasn't working, but given it was May, this was no issue.
Just an ideal place to stay for a couple of days. Bus from outside the door takes 5-10 mins to get you down to the town. The host is a lovely lady who can’t do enough to help. Also a huge help that they have a car park as this means you don’t have to worry about the car for a few days whilst here. Would strongly recommend
We stayed three nights at the Hotel Il Saraceno. This hotel is situated at Volastra. This is directly above Cinque Terre. It has easy access to the walking trails and has a regular bus service directly across the road, down to Manarola, (one of the Cinque Terre Villages). At Manarola you can buy rail passes which give you unlimited access to regular trains from La Spezia to Levanto. The train stops at every village so you can train from village to village or pick up the walking trails. At some of the villages/towns there are excellent beaches, but there is always great hospitality and things to see. Antonella, the Hostess at Il Saraceno supplied us with all of this information and more when we arrived. She is an outstanding Hostess, looking after every request with enthusiasm and welcoming guests as if we are all part of her family. The hotel has a nice deck on the roof to relax, if your legs need a rest after all that walking. At Volastra village, across the road from the hotel there are two very nice restaurants serving typical local and international meals. During our stay we took Antonella's advice for one day and travelled to La Spezia by train where we picked up a ferry. This came along the coast and gave an amazing view of the villages from the sea side. We would recommend Il Saraceno to any travellers to Cinque Terre. …
We stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the neighboring Cinque Terre towns, and could not have been happier with our decision to stay here. While the rooms are not fancy, they are exceptionally clean, modern and comfortable. Antonella, the owner, treated us like family, and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast buffet (included in the very reasonable room price) was excellent, with warm, home made pastries that were a delight. The location is perfect: High up above Manarolla, so it's quiet at night, but access to the towns is easy with options of the bus which stops right across the street, or accessing the trail network less than 5 minutes down the street. When you stay here, be sure to ask Antonella for a glass of the local white wine - you won't be disappointed!…
This hotel is in a quiet rustic village on top of the hills above Manarola. Ideal if you are traveling by car since parking in the Cinque Terre villages is hard to find and expensive. There is a bus service from Volastra to Manarola every 30 minutes and it takes about 5 minutes to reach Manarola from where you can take local train to other villages. The hotel is right across the bus stop so if you are traveling with lot of luggage and arrive by train, I found it somewhat convenient to just catch the bus outside and train station and directly arrive at your hotel. The rooms were clean and break fast was really good. There are good hiking trails starting from Volastra to Manarola and Corniglia. Unlike the Cinque Terre villages, Volastra does not have many businesses with limited choice on restaurants and a single convenience store with limited items but it does give you a feel of a real village life.…
Our house in Monarola had broken A/c so we booked this place at the last minute. Very quiet and peaceful place. Innkeeper is very accommodating. Hotel has a bar with low priced drinks. Highly recommend. Convenient to shuttle to Monarola. Car parking is shaded.
We stopped here whilst walking from Reggiomore to Morano. Two cappuccinos and two beautiful biscotti €5....Sat outside on the terrace and the lady was so helpful and spoke good English.Definstely a good stop if you walk up the panoramic route from Moreno..
After a very long hike upwards from Cornigilia we were greeted by the warm and welcoming lady at the front desk who explained to us that Antonella was not there as she had an appointment. No matter, we were very happy to have arrived in such a lovely and quaint place after such a long hike. Our room was spacious for three adults and the bathroom also spacious - all areas of this hotel were spotless!! The front desk clerk was very helpful in providing us information on the bus schedule and recommendations for restaurants for dinner. We make our way by bus to Manarola (bus stop right outside the hotel-very convenient), we explore the town and have dinner and then take the bus back to the hotel. It is now almost 10:00 pm - Antonella is there to greet us - she was lovely and welcoming and not at all put out that it was so late. The next morning she was equally delightful at breakfast - there was a nice selection of food - and she was very quick to check us out as we had slept in a bit and had to take the 9:20 am bus, so that we make the next train to Riomaggiore!! I would not hesitate to stay here again and recommend any reader to do the same - you will not be sorry!!…
This was our second time visiting Cinque Terra but the first staying in the park. This part of Italy is an amazing, beautiful place and we wanted to allow time to enjoy it. This hotel is very conveniently located, right next to a wonderful hiking trail and less than a block from a bus stop (when walking is vertical and not horizontal a lot of the time, this helps!). And yet it is quiet and comfortable. Antonella was efficient and quite the hostess. I think there are actually three of her floating around at any moment. She welcomes the guests, makes the coffee, gives travel information, checks you out and much more. She is like the mother you always wanted.
What a wonderful hotel. It is right across the street from the bus. There are two very good restaurants. The hotel was clean and quiet and pet friendly. The owner was very friendly and helped us to arrange the visit to ALL of the towns on Cinque Terra. Thank you so much. The breakfast was very good and there was a lot of food. She said that the trains were always crowded and did not advise us to use them.
