We had only a one night stay but found the picturesque house a delight with our wonderful garden suite comprising a small sitting room, large bedroom and modern bathroom. Hosts Steve and Nannette Kirk were interesting and provided a good breakfast in the dining area of the large kitchen. A well worthwhile stay and perfectly situated to discover the region
My partner and I stayed at Woodside for 3 nights. It is a brilliant location for twitches (bird watchers) and within a close proximity to Picton for day trips on The Sounds and to The Golden Mile (vineyards). Upon arrival, we were greeted by Steve who showed us around Adelaide’s Barn and told us we were welcome to have lemons and oranges from the trees out the front. In the kitchen we discovered freshly made bread and croissants as well as muesli, juice, eggs, milk, coffee and tea as well as facilities to cook. The fridge was also stocked with local beer and wine (which were delicious). I requested the platter with seafood for our first night so we could go for a short walk after we arrived and then settle in for the evening (please see the attached photo). The bathroom has a laundry as well as cleaning products. We absolutely loved the grounds, the gardens are very well kept and the owners 2 dogs regularly wander around and come and say hello. The old renovated barn has games and DVDs in the lounge area.…
Fantastic room, great breakfasts, delightful hosts! We had a wonderful 2 night stay with Steve and Nanette in their little country paradise earlier this week. Very highly recommended. Thanks for the great time!
Lovely weekend in a romantic restored barn, but is the GPS system rigged? Thank you to Steve and Nannette for providing the most excellent directions. No matter what we keyed into the rental car GPS, it never found Tuamarina.
If you visit both island, you are really likely to pass by Marlborough and you should definitely think of stopping by this lovely place for at least two days ! We found the B&B of Steve and Nanette being the perfect place to stay in the region. We really enjoyed staying in the self-catered cottage in the backyard of the house. We loved the decoration and the cosy feeling of the place. We had a great privacy and the cottage is super well equipped. We enjoyed our fresh homemade bread and croissant in the morning! Feel free to ask Steve and Nanette the good tips about the hike and activities in the region.
