I stayed at La Souqueto in March for a long weekend, and it is the perfect base to explore the surrounding area, which is stunningly beautiful. Mel and Jon's hospitality, advice, and company made my stay even more enjoyable, I will definitely be returning here and would highly recommend it to everyone and anyone!

Our visit to La Soqueto was so pleasant we rearranged our plans so we could stay longer. I enjoyed waking up to birds singing, fresh air and sunlight streaming through our large windows. The rooms are very tastefully appointed and provide all the usual amenities, including the essential (for me) Wi-Fi. A delicious breakfast was served at an hour of...

Our hosts, Mel and John, couldn't have been kinder, more gracious or helpful and all without being in the least intrusive. Their house is charming and very comfortable with all the easiness of home. We only wish we had had the time to spend several nights with them instead of having to head for the boat. How lovely to have...

I stayed for three nights at the end of September with three friends. Mel and John the owners were very welcoming and accommodating hosts. The house and rooms were very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The B & B was well placed to explore a very interesting and varied part of France. We had a wonderful day on Johns boat where...

We were in this year three times for 2-3 nights at La Souquetto and can recommend it without any restriction. A wonderful place to explore the Languedoc, the canal du Midi and the Cevennes. Not far from the Mediterranean and Narbonne. The B & B is located in a charming stone house in a small French village. The rooms are...

To begin with, the building is spectacular, impeccably clean throughout. French country charm, tastefully decorated, with a sure eye and steady hand. Jon and Mel are a wonderful couple, friendly and accommodating. The included breakfasts are excellent, with the attentive hosts and generous helpings. Mel and John were great with suggestions for places to visit and where to eat. Very knowledgable about the area. Breakfast was great. Made us feel right at home. There is also a restaurant just next door called La Taverna. Very nice.

A lovely comfortable b&b in a small village setting. Mel and John are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. We made full use of their knowledge of the local area and our two night stay didn't feel long enough. The room was bright, spacious and very comfortable. Good walks close by as the canal is at hand. Lovely...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Souqueto, an award winning B&B, is a sensitively restored town house situated in the centre of a quiet, medieval village in the heart of the Languedoc! We are situated 40 minutes from both Carcassonne and Beziers airports but our region boasts over 5 airports. We accommodate couples or groups (up to 10 persons) looking to explore this beautiful region of France. Take a cruise (or sleep) on our Classic boat Bella Mia on the Canal du midi, a few minutes walk from our back door, swim in the crystal clear water of the river Cesse behind the house or head for the wonderful beaches on The Med, only 30 mins from the village. We are surrounded by vineyards and wine Caves for wine tasting and if it's food you have come to sample we know some the the very best, yet cost effective restaurants to eat at. Our village car park (a few seconds from our B&B) offers FREE parking. Our village restaurant and village shop is next door! ... more   less
