What a wonderful week we had at La Souqueto to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had our son with us so we stayed in the beautiful apartment with a lovely terrace. Jon and Mel made us feel very welcome with wonderful breakfasts and great advice on activities and restaurants. The location is lovely in a beautiful French village a... More

Not surprised to see that all the reviews for La Souquto are excellent. To add our own, we stayed for 5 nights last week, in a very comfortable room with an excellent bathroom. Spacious, clean and with a good bed and fluffy towels. Jon and Mel were extremely welcoming and helpful and we felt very relaxed during our time there.... More

We had a wonderful week at La Souqueto in late June. Jon and Mel are great hosts, very friendly and looked after us really well. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and very peaceful. We had a few nights at the top of the house which has two bedrooms a large lounge and a roof terrace, nice and breezy as... More

Our second visit with Jon and Mel boy are we lucky! Managed to fit in three days berthed on the Canal du Midi onboard the grand old lady Bella Mia. A great experience with lovely walks along the canal to Somail for lunch and dinner plus the local tapas bar for great value refreshments with tapas. Candlelit dinner on the... More

The excellent variety and quality of Jon's breakfasts each morning was much appreciated. We chose to stay here whilst attending a niece's wedding nearby. We made an excellent choice! We had the large family room which had a large living area and terrace The bedrooms and bathroom were also a good size. The service from the owners was great, from lovely freshly prepared breakfasts to helpful suggestions on where to visit and the best way to get there.

We had 10 wonderful days alternating between staying on Jon's beautifully restored 'gentleman's cabin cruiser' and at La Souqueto. Jon and Mel are perfect hosts, warm and welcoming. La Souqueto is very well appointed, there is a large kitchen/dining area with cooking/fridge facilities which guests may use and this is especially useful if you wish to prepare your lunch or... We got off to a great start with Jon's warm welcome - he offered us tea (mine made from mint leaves cut off the plant at the kitchen door) and chatted easily with us. The suite at the top of the house was sunny and great for chilling in after a lovely day at large in the Languedoc, or on... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Souqueto, an award winning B&B, is a sensitively restored town house situated in the centre of a quiet, medieval village in the heart of the Languedoc! We are situated 40 minutes from both Carcassonne and Beziers airports but our region boasts over 5 airports. We accommodate couples or groups (up to 10 persons) looking to explore this beautiful region of France. Take a cruise (or sleep) on our Classic boat Bella Mia on the Canal du midi, a few minutes walk from our back door, swim in the crystal clear water of the river Cesse behind the house or head for the wonderful beaches on The Med, only 30 mins from the village. We are surrounded by vineyards and wine Caves for wine tasting and if it's food you have come to sample we know some the the very best, yet cost effective restaurants to eat at. Our village car park (a few seconds from our B&B) offers FREE parking. Our village restaurant and village shop is next door! ... more   less
