We had a magical trip to Lapland to find Santa with our 8 year old daughter just before Christmas, getting back on the 23rd Dec, just in time for the delivery on the 25th. Perfect.
So, the trip was everything I had hoped for. Canterbury...More
We first went on a 4 day Canterbury Travel visit to Santa with our oldest grandchildren 20 years ago. Despite the poor food it was magical and we swore we would take another set for 4 days this year. The events are still magical but...More
We booked with Canterbury Travel and stayed in one of the log cabins.
The entire trip was amazing and certainly a once in a lifetime experience. We would definitely recommend Canterbury Travel.
The log cabins themselves are perfect for a family trip to lapland. They...More
Great hotel and location. Luosto just consists of a few shops, restaurants then its just a ski slope and lots of snow. Magical scenery. I'm not sure I would describe the TUI experience as magical. All the staff were lovely but little things like gala...More
We arrived to our log cabin after a short walk from our coach drop off. The cabin was warm and welcoming. As a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children (Aged 6 and 7) it suited us perfectly. The children immediately got dressed into...More

My comments apply to a trip organised by Canterbury Travel, other agents may do it differently. There is a special check in at Gatwick which is not well signed, but once you find it it is easy. When you get off the plane you will be allocated to a bus which will have 2 charming hosts and a driver that will be with you for all activities during the 4 days. They will drop you near your cabin but expect to drag your cases through snow. The cabins are warm with a plentiful supply of logs for the optional fire which I loved. The cabins are well equipped and you can cook there. Near the main hotel there is a shop to buy supplies for the cabin if you want to. You will be allocated to a restaurant for communal Breakfast and dinner. You go to Lusto for the magic of the events and the scenery, not the communal food which is very ordinary. You get towels and bedding but take your own soap, tea bags, coffee and hot chocolate. The one possible problem is moving between your cabin and the communal Restaurants. You have to walk in temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees, and some of the distances are quite far. It would be worth influencing where you stay and dine before you pay the final charge. Our walk took me 30mins each way and was hilly,
. However the children faces at the critical time was worth all the cost and difficulties. Hope this helps
