    Magical Experience
We stayed in the Igloo room for our honeymoon for two nights. It was completely magical. Nothing we have experienced before. To be clear, it’s not a five star hotel, you’re paying this price for the location, experience and view. The room is small but cozy and has all the basic necessities. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant feels like it’s straight out of a Christmas film. The food and drinks are amazing too. We highly recommend choosing Santa’s Hotel Aurora if you’re confused between various hotels with igloo rooms (like we were). Luosto is easily accessible from Rovaniemi and it’s a beautiful town.

Great Hotel!!!!!! We spent 1 night here and made the most of it!
We came in Dec 2019 for our honeymoon and he hotel gifted us a little glass elf. Since we've gotten it we take it everywhere! We spent money on extra alcohol and gifts because this hotel was so awesome. Our room had its own sauna and the staff had no qualms about me being heavily tattooed and running outside to jump in the snow after the sauna, like a true Finn, they laughed. We didn't cause any disturbances and didn't run through the lobby, but in other places my tattoos have been an issue. Our server for dinner was Maria and she was by far one of the coolest and down to earth servers we had while in Finland. She talked to us about her Sami heritage and recommended some dishes. On to the hotel itself, breakfast was included and there was a wide variety to choose from. Walls weren't thin, beds were comfortable. TV was a bit far away but we didn't use it. The hotel itself great Christmas decor in the lobby and room. The lobby even had some chairs and board games by the fire for the cold blooded. Lots of info on the bulletin board in the lobby as well. But the staff are what made this for us. If Maria wouldn't have been our server it would've still been a great experience but she really took it over the top for us.

We returned ten year's later and it is even better!
We often spoke about our visit to this little hotel and how much we enjoyed it. People say that returning to a place is a mistake as it does not live up to the previous visit but we can honestly say it was even better than before, and the new chef has improved the menu considerably. The staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. A sauna in the bathroom and log burner in the bedroom adds to the Scandinavian atmosphere. There are plenty of snow-related activities nearby to fill your days. We rarely go back twice but we might make it a third time in the near future!

Stayed a night on our way back South from a week long hike in Muotka. The basic room we booked ahead was very afforable and pleasantly modern. We had previous experience with Santa’s Hotel from their Saariselkä location and it was nowhere near as enjoyable. Everything here was very neat and taken care of, timeless and clean. We enjoyed the sauna in the room, the bed was very comfortable and the basic room had everything we needed. It was bigger than we expected, too. Our only mild complaint was the toilet paper which seemed very cheap and thin. The breakfast was lacking varierty (ie. no bacon, scrambled eggs etc) but it is off-season and it wasn’t very busy at the hotel so it made sense. Still very enjoyable and tasty breakfast, calm area to eat and pleasant staff. Overall, our stay was everything we wanted and the price was very affordable considering the quality of the service and the stay in general! The small grocery store and a good restaurant (Punakettu) were within an easy walking distance, too, and we got to park out car right in front of the hotel entrance.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in December with our 7 year old son. Upon arriving, the hotel appeared worn and in need of a makeover. No lift and stairs that look like they're stuck in the 70's. The breakfast was very disappointing and left a lot to be desired. The beds and fold out sofa were not very comfortable at all. The room felt unwelcoming and bland. To top it off, when my husband became very unwell the morning that we had to leave at 5am for a flight out of Finland, our 7 year old son left his iPad in the room. I had tried to pay our outstanding bill at the reception, only to find that all of the doors were locked, and the only way out was at the end of the 70's style corridor. I emailed the reception to let them know that I had to pay the outstanding bill and requested their account details so that I could transfer the money in, and also to let them know that our son had left his treasured iPad in the room. I received a strange phone call as I was boarding our flight out of Finland (I was literally on the plane looking for my seat!) from the hotel telling me that a transfer driver was waiting for us. The hotel was aware that we had a car as I had discussed parking with them previously. I found the phone call to be unusual and inadvertently naive, with a hidden agenda, The receptionist on the other end went on to say 'Oh, ok then' and accepted that we in fact did have a car, however proceeded to "inform" me of our outstanding bill. I told the her that I had emailed them earlier and to check their emails because I had already told them I needed their account details to pay the bill, The receptionist refused to let me off the phone and it seemed that she was playing ignorant to what I was telling her. I firmly had to tell her that I was looking for my seat on the plane at that point in time and to email me back with the account details. The hotel refuses to provide any account details, and instead generates a link with only 3 days to pay it. As we were constantly on the move every night or two, when I would get a moment to relax and pay the bill, the 3 days would have just lapsed, then have to go back to the hotel to ask them to regenerate the link. The hotel began holding the iPad against us, saying that they cannot help us with the iPad because we hadnt paid using the link. My son uses this iPad to communicate with our family on facetime, and now is without any sort of communication unless he uses my husbands or my phone. If it had been my husbands iPad or mine, I wouldnt be so concerned, however it belongs to a child and the hotel have chosen to hold it against us. I would not recommend this hotel for 5 nights, or 1 night!! If it was the only hotel left in Finland, I would skip Finland completely and suggest others to do the same! Make sure you give very careful consideration to this hotel if you are thinking about staying here, and I hope that nobody else leaves anything there because you wont be getting it back!! This hotel sure knows how to ruin a little boy's trip!

This hotel was perfect for myself and my husband to visit Lapland. Lovely location in a small village right next to a ski slope. Room was extremely clean and so cosy. Having a log fire and a sauna was such a bonus. We were half board and found a great selection at breakfast, with traditional foods to try. Dinner was 3 courses with no choice for us, it was absolutely delicious. Staff were so friendly and helpful, we felt very welcome from day 1. Village had a few shops and restuarants to try, but everything shuts down around 10, and considering it was dark from 3pm. It was nice to sit in the bar which carried on serving drinks or chilling back in your room with your own sauna and log fire. Lapland Safaris office is right next to the hotel, so just walk over to take your excursions. included in our holiday at this hotel with Nordic Experience was a night in the glass igloo, we did this on our last night. So luxurious and just perfect.

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel. Very well situated (at 1h15 from the airport, at hundred meters from the ski station and very close to all entertainments) in a beautiful wild area. I was travelling with my two daughters, the room offered enough space for 3 and was equipped with its own sauna. It was very clean, comfortable and quiet! We enjoyed our stay, all the more that the staff was awesome, super friendly and very kind. Whereas the reception was not opening before 8am, the staff showed up at 6:30am the day we were leaving just to make sure everything was okay and the taxi we ordered was there ! I really appreciate this kind attention. Breakfast was delicious and the Restaurant outstanding. One of my daughter is vegan, the chief offered different meals to accomodate her diet. This was wonderful vacations in a great place, if I ever go to Luosto again, I will surely look to stay in this hotel again!

I originally booked at Santa's Igloos Arctic Circle. But due to low season, there was no staff or breakfast there so I requested to re-book us to Santa's Hotel Aurora in Luosto. Staff were very nice and tried to solve our requests. The igloo room is definitely some experience, but you can't really expect to see aurora from the room. There are too many lights around the igloos. Unless the aurora is very strong, you won't be able to see it due to the light pollution. It is better that you go outdoor to find the aurora. The price is high if you aim at seeing the aurora, otherwise it is a nice room with good facilities and decoration.

This nice little hotel is located perfectly by the Luosto mountain. Every hotel room has A sauna and some has even fireplace. One night in the iglu was great, unfortunately it was mostly cloudy. There is free application for northern light alarm. Recommended. Fall is so nice here. There is also amethyst mine around, the largest and only in Europe.
