Was here a few years ago and this was a decent hotel with good rates. Now it is a half decent hotel with high rates and therefore just not worth it. Rooms equal to if not better than here are available at competing hotels within a few yards at less than half the price. Sure, it has newer paint and is perhaps a tad more clean but there can be no justification paying such high prices when the shower is cold, the internet does not work and the air conditioning unit is as loud as an airplane taking off. You can get all that for 900 pesos less across the road!
my room is clean, orderly and basic needs are provided. sympre accdg to hotel status. I admired this lady employee who is all around where hotel services is required. there is a HUKAd resto inside the hotel, near the church, robinson mall, mercury drug, groceries, chicken inasal, moon café, Jollibee, goldilocks, red ribbon , house of beauty massage etc.. the place is peaceful, fares are monitored and regulated.
Visited many times over the years and have seen good improvements and some deterioration. Standard rooms are twin only, small in size, no refrigerator or tea or coffee making facility. Air con is noisy and furnishings dated. Not properly cleaned as per attacehed photo of the only window in the room. Gross used cotton buds.
The sad fact that this well worn and tired hotel is still the best hotel in Ozamiz City. Check in is fast and efficient and rooms are clean, but very tired. Air con is noisy. The hotel has Hukad Restaurant and the Coffee Lounge attached. The coffee shop is a great addition. I stayed 3 days in the Royal Garden and the elevator is out of order, so you have to use stairs, which is not good when you either have luggage, or mobility problems. The WiFi is poor, constantly dropping signal every few seconds, making it unusable for long periods. The staff are friendly and security is good. Located a few minutes walk from bank and mall is also a plus, but this hotel is showing it’s age, it is tired and worn.
We booked the Imperial suite at almost 4000.00 per night and the room was at best fair, very dated. stained carpets, dingy and dark and no water pressure, the TV stations are limited, the internet is very unstable so don't count on it if you have urgent work to get out. The room service food is not bad and cheep, but nothing to get excited about. Inasal would have been just as good and McDonalds would have been better. The free breakfast was not eatable. They cant make sunny side up eggs, the bacon was a shriveled up bunch of meat, the toast was stale and jelly was uneatable, no real juice is available and no fruit available. I would be embarrassed if I owned or ran this hotel as it has lots of potential, but you can tell they just don't care about this building or business. If this is as good as it gets in Ozamis, we wont be back.…
