We visited the Carraig Hotel for a family meal with a view to holding a large family event in some months to come. We shared this so anticipated a positive experience. We were shown a bar table but later found out we could have eaten at a restaurant within the hotel but this wasn't offered. The food was disappointing, reheated... More

A large group of us stayed here for a walking weekend in the Comeraghs, and it worked out really well. The hotel is in the heart of an attractive town and it was a comfortable stay. The food was good and plentiful and the accommodation was clean with excellent bathrooms. The staff attracted plenty of compliments due to their friendliness... More

Great hotel stay while visiting relatives nearby. Stayed in room 107 which was nice and quiet as away from the main road. Comfy beds, nice powerful shower and very friendly / helpful staff. The full Irish breakfast was delicious every morning. We also ate dinner in the bar a couple of times which was also excellent, particularly the 'steak night'... More

After an excellent stay in 2015 we came back again this year. Great welcome from Paul, Alice, Denise and Olivia and the rest of the staff. The food is excellent and the the hotel has good facilities. Be warned - it is a busy hotel, especially during the day. Chat up the chef and he will do you a chowder... More

My girlfriend and I regularly dine at the Carraig and it's definitely a hard place to beat. We've never been disappointed with any dishes on the menu, but my favourite has to be the Chef's special 10oz Peppered Steak it's always cooked to perfection. The staff are excellent and are always polite and friendly and nothing is ever too much... More

Arrived just after the whole street suffered a power cut. Staff friendly and helpful and in good humour despite only having power to the ground floor from their generator. Trying to get a meal was difficult but we were offered sandwiches as the only option !! Walked the main street and all the various pub and restaurant staff were in... More

Got stuck in a single room with two tiny single beds, most senior person in the company - having filled the hotel with my staff for the previous month from Mon-Fri and I got the worst room in the house. Connecting door in my room seemed to lead to my neighbours bathroom as I could hear everything as if they're... More

As a family we regularly go to the Carraig at the weekend. The menu is not overly complicated but it is always fresh and well cooked. At the weekend if each parent eats a main course, 2 children can eat their dinner for free. There are other good deals like 2 steak dinners for 30 euro. and the quality of... More
