The delicious, nutritious, varied meals sourced from the extensive garden sprawled in front of the main lodge are just the beginning. We were greeted by smiling faces and freshly picked raspberries, then welcomed to walk barefoot through the living room-inspired lodge to lounge on the deck that overlooks the ocean. The timing of the tide while we were at Hollyhock... More

Hollyhock’s magic comes through the five elements that are an integral part of the Hollyhock experience- food, flowers, ocean, community, & solitude. The food from garden to plate is phenomenal. The only additional ingredient is the love and intention put into the food by the cooks, the food is nourishing to the body, mind and spirit. Then, there are the Hollyhock... More

There is something about Hollyhock. Everyone's smiles, the Desolation Sound location on Cortes Island, the serenity and the natural surroundings. This is a wellness and learning retreat that really walks its talk. Very healthy to be here. Incredible vegetarian food - total gourmet. Wonderful well known presenters and a huge selection of courses but even if you just go to... More

We spent five days here, the latest of several visits. We will be back again soon too. The staff are great, food wonderful and we enjoyed our silent mindfulness retreat. This was our first time in the beach front cabins and it was worth it. It is our quintessential West Coast place.

We stayed at Hollyhock for two nights, right on the beach, and then stayed in a cottage about 5 minutes away for another week, and returned for a few meals, hot tubs and a nature walk. This was an ideal way to experience deep rest and relaxation. The food was incredible (fresh, organic, ethnic fare and truly artistically presented and... More

I spent over a week at Hollyhock training in EFT Emotional Freedom Technique and it was so incredible. I was there on training to add to my healing arts business but also a personal journey of transformation going through a divorce after 23 years. Hollyhock was an absolute sanctuary for me especially walking through their gorgeous gardens every day. I... More

We spent several days on Cortes Island and decided to make a trip to Hollyhock in the process. Excited to visit their beautiful gardens, we were "hushed" by the lady at the front desk when attempting to ask a question. We would have understood if this was done politely; however, politeness was not her strong point as we noticed during... More

I stayed at Hollyhock for six days in July, participating in a sea kayaking workshop, and it was one of the best experiences in my life! The dorms were very clean and the facilities intelligently designed, the food 3X daily was absolutely delicious - garden fresh and completely organic, the sense of community was truly magical, the Pacific Ocean as... I was at Hollyhock for a dance seminar. It was a lovely location, and the accommodation was very comfortable. I had an ocean front room in the Carousel building and it was perfect. I shared a bath with someone which was no problem. The food is very good and there is always fruit and toast and tea and coffee available.
