I had a wonderful experience at Paleo! I highly recommend it to any individual looking to focus on a health, wellness, or weight loss goal—large, small or somewhere in between! Admittedly, at first I was not “gung-ho” about going to the Paleo Wellness Retreat (PWR). My sister organized the trip without my input and, I, being a wellness retreat veteran, was immediately suspect as I had not heard of it before. The price seemed above average and a far distance to travel when there were seemingly similar retreats closer to home in the US. But she was adamant that she had done her research and that PWR was special and one of a kind. She was 100% right. What makes PWR such a standout is two main things. 1.) Food: carefully sourced, resulted in meaningful weight loss, bespoke meal customization for optimal personalized health The first way PWR stands out is the quality of the food and its meal plans. No other retreat I have attended was able to check all the important “boxes” in this category at once—food that tastes good, is customized to your specific health needs and goals (blood test included), is locally sourced to ensure no toxins and promote detox, and results in a significant amount of weight loss! As mentioned, I have attended many retreats before, but the only ones in which I lost a substantial amount of weight in a week’s time were the ones with juice cleanses, which also meant I was miserable and hungry 24/7. Conversely, the ones with food, while “healthy” and leaving you feeling good, didn’t really move the scale in a week’s time. Even if I worked out like a maniac during previous retreats, I would fare a little better, but nothing meaningful. It was a game-changer for me to see that is was indeed possible to lose a significant amount of weight quickly while eating enjoyable food, and all the while detoxing from all the substances I subjected myself to every day in New York (TONS of coffee, alcohol, etc.). I ended up losing over 10 lbs. in 10 days! 2.) Quality of Practitioners and Services The second aspect that made PWR so special is that despite being small (I think six or eight rooms total), the breadth and depth of the health services and classes they offer are unmatched. The owner Danielle has a knack for finding the most skilled health practitioners in every discipline. I got the distinct impression she has tested each and every instructor/practitioner on herself and handpicked the best and most effective. The result is an impressive group of individuals that can support you in mind, body, and soul and help facilitate the changes in your life that you need and want while at PWR. Each session I had there, whether it was sound meditation or performance coaching, I left feeling lucky to have been able to able to get time with the individual, and also thinking, “How did Danielle find this remarkable talent?”. Even at high-end places like Canyon Ranch, there have been services that I have thought, “meh,” or “not worth the money”—that didn’t happen once at PWR. Finally, don’t be afraid to go solo! The environment is one in which it is easy to become friends with people quickly. I honestly left feeling like it was a “home away from home.” I am looking forward to going back!

It was a trip I had planned for a long time as I heard so many wonderful things about the retreat and it finally happened! It was the ultimate place to recuperate mentally and physically. The guidance from the staff and Dani was exceptional. Dani is absolutely someone is who not just knowledgeable but a strong mentor which was what I truly needed. Her staff are ALL so friendly, experienced and the support from them was comforting and welcoming all the time as I’m sure they are also challenged by us guests and I truly appreciated them all. The accommodation was always spotless and pristine always, had the most calming and varied essentials oils in the rooms every day, reminiscent of the best day spas just to remind you that you are in a special place. The food was always super tasty and the cooking classes with Sue definitely demonstrated how easy it was to sustain this back home. What I also loved during the stay were the daily trips and programs from the aqua classes with Tina, this was really fun and not too difficult, sound meditation with Ana that takes you to a whole new level of mindfulness and peace. Personal development classes from nutrition with Craig was very clear and I certainly learnt a lot, Clay was wonderful with strategies on dealing with stress management as well as Kirsten. We had yoga and Muay Thai classes too, you’ll never be bored!! I couldn’t recommend this place any more for anyone who would like a transformation of the body, mind and soul. Thank you Dani for creating this oasis, one and only paleo retreat in the world that covers all I needed and more.

Great weight loss retreat. Unlike other weight loss bootcamps or retreat portions are large but made of healthy food. The program also includes cooking classes to be able to continue eating paleo at home. Staff are extremely helpful and nice. I would definitely return.

Everyone has a time in their lives when they just aren’t happy with their health. This is the perfect place to press the reset. No punishment, in fact you are treated so well, with beautiful food, lovely caring staff. Walks by the beach, Sound meditation, massage, aqua aerobics (lots of laughing included), sauna, Thai boxing, Pilates, yoga. You don’t have to do all this, but it’s there if you want it. No starving. The food is delicious and you can learn how to cook it too. They have talks by experts, so interesting or you can lay by the pool if that’s what you feel like. I enjoyed chatting to the other like minded guests of varying ages. I hope I don’t need to press reset again, but I know where to go if it does happen!
