I've stayed in a lot of small hotels and room 6 in this B&B is more like a dungeon than hotel room. Fortunately the owners are very friendly and the location is great, which made up a bit for the lack of sleep.

Thank you for your review. The morning after your first night after your feedback about the room, we immediately changed the room and also offered a complimentary dinner to be nice (even if it is the first bad review we have received since we have open and nobody ever complained about the room). You were satisfied about the new room... More

We had 5 amazing days at San Gennaro Castello. Dario and his wife have impressive knowledge about the hidden secrets nearby and was more than willing to share their knowledge with us. The food, local wine and local olive oil was excellent. Thank you for your genuine hospitality, will definitely visit you again in the future.

Spent one night in this B&B is located on the top of a hill all surrounded by olive trees. It is pretty isolated but also close enough to be choosen to visit several interesting places like Lucca, Pisa, Firenze, Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, Abetone... In this recently renowed structure our room was wide and clean, same for the bathroom. Free... More

This is the most amazing B&B we have ever stayed! The owners, Dario and Marie, are so warm, friendly and fun! It felt like we were staying at a family members home! On the first day we entered as strangers and by the end of the stay we left as friends! We took the cooking class and it was so... More

Came to Toscana for a wedding in the summer of 2014 and had a great stay at San Gennaro. Beatiful scenery, spacious rooms, and great property owners. Can highly recommend a stay, I for one cannot wait to return.

We had always wanted to go to Italy, my wife had been before and desperately wanted me and our son to see it. Well we went last May, arriving in Tuscany in a freak heat wave (30-42 degrees). Upon arrival we were met by Dario, the owner. What a character! he was so welcoming and made us feel so special... More

I was referred to this B&B by an online community member. First, the location. This B&B is nestled into the Tuscan hillside, high above Collodi. The village is quite small, but very quaint with cobblestone streets, walls, and homes. You can walk down to the main village of San Gennaro, or a longer walk to Collodi via a dirt path/road.... I can't say enough about our stay at San Gennaro Castello. We were greeted upon our arrival by Marie, the Inn Keeper, after getting situated in our room she had set up reservations at the local restaurant for dinner, she also gave us information about must sees in the area. When we got back we met Dario, Maries husband, who invited... More

Firstly this B&B is in a perfect location. Tucked away in a very quiet old village up in the hills. Perfect place to escape from the masses in Florence and the like. The village is just beautiful and we spent our first day there just wandering. Great sunset views and amazing old villas and gardens. The B&B rooms are done... More

We had an excellent two night stay at San Gennaro Castello. Dario and Marie are wonderful people and great hosts. Dario went well out of his way to help us have a memorable visit, even finding an apartment for us when we decided to stay longer and he had no rooms left in his own building. He loaned us his...
