Lunch Menu @ 45 euro per head. The service was really excellent (for Ireland) and we could hardly flaw it. The menu we found quite limited with Hake, Rump of Lamb or Beef to choose from. The Hake was fantastic (according to those who ordered in our party) but the lamb was very fatty and chewy albeit tasty. I had... More

From start to finish it was an amazing experience . The staff could not have been more attentive and friendly they made us feel right at home. They personalise your experience and are so attentive. The food was amazing, the fish dishes are to die for and the room was so comfortable and cosy. Attention to detail is something that... More

This was a much anticipated visit booked in December 15 and first available date was july16. The food was excellent CELERIAC AND APPLE VOLUTE,THORNHILL DUCK,SEABASS, BEEF AND CHOCOLATE FONDANT were my choices. The wines which accompanied the food were disappointing. Stick to the wine list which has many excellent wines. The accommodation is satisfactory. Staff are very friendly and provide... More

We just love this place from our pre-dinner drinks to fabulous dinner and relaxed drinks after with a chat with Nevin if we're lucky and an amazing breakfast the next morning before heading home. Have already booked for this autumn and next year also.

We visited this fabulous resteraunt in April and it was the most fabulous gastronomic experience of our lives! I have never been anywhere that I could say everything was just perfect! Until now!! The staff at Mc Nean House are exemplary in their attention to every little detail from the moment you step through the door until you leave .... More

Booking staff very personable and although we had to accept a 9 30 reservation, we were happy to do so as our previous experiences had been wonderful. My only concern was whether we would feel rushed as has been the case in top London restaurants. Not a bit of it! The staff were amenable, knowledgeable, attentive, genial and discreet. The... More

We were given a voucher for McNean's a wedding present and waited for months to get a booking for dinner. We decided to stay overnight as well to have the full experience and made up the balance ourselves, which was still relatively expensive I felt. When we arrived we were taken to our room by Martin who had a pompous... More

Sunday lunch - selection of menu was VERY limited. Food was exceptionally presented BUT the quantity was very minimal, even by the standards of this type of establishment which I appreciate concentrates on quality rather than quantity. But here lies the problem - the quality - there was surprisingly little taste/flavour of the food, with the exception of anything with... More

We stayed overnight. Dinner was amazing. Incredible food, staff were superb and very knowledgeable. Wine selection really complemented each course. Breakfast was a treat. The room was really nice. Cannot recommend this highly enough for a special treat.

2nd time at MacNean house but this time we stayed onsite rather than in a local B&B. Beautiful setting in Blacklion. Very small and quiet town right on the border. Restaurant and dinner was amazing. Lovely bar and terrace area to enjoy a drink. Standard room was a bit small but very nice. We weren't too disappointed about the room... More
