We were not sure what to expect from A Pignata as far as lodgings, as it is in the middle of nowhere in the interior of Corsica. We picked it for it's vicinity to the Col de Bavella and we knew it had excellent Corsican food. To our utter delight we were offered the "small" cabanon which turned out be... More

Hidden gem outside Levie (not easy to find and sparsely posted) with good local food and wines. Nice lounge and pool w steamroom next to it fulfills the delightful experience. The prehistoric monuments not far off is worth some time on your way further on

Pleasant rustic surroundings and a relaxing place to stay for exploring the surrounding areas. However the rooms even if described as Superior are very basic, but perhaps if you book the cabin in the treehouse, it might be different. Shower is cheap and bathroom toiletries and fittings resemble more of a 3 star than 4 star inn. Contrary to the... More

Great location in the mountains in corsica. Great food for lunch and dinners. Breakfast could be better (a bit basic...). Very good service. We stayed at one of the 2 tree houses with our 5 year old daughter: perfect...and it has the aircon : very helpfull in the middle of summer! The indoor pool is very practical too...and kids friendly.

During our hike across southern Corsica via the Mare a Mare Sud trail, this was our most luxurious night. We wanted to stay here to sample what we'd heard was an exceptional representation of Corsican food and also just rest up in the middle of our trip. This was a beautiful stop although we didn't have time to take advantage... More

This is a romantic spot in an area of outstanding beauty. A restaurant supplied by its own farm which has a few rooms, although now with an emphasis on the hotel aspect. It is unquestionably rustic, but the rooms are perfectly comfortable. There is an indoor pool with sauna (I think it is very cold later in the year). There... More

We had a great time at A Pignata and we did eat a lot. The Lonely Planet was not joking when they suggested you should fast before the 7-course dinner menu. On the plus side: lovely setting away from civilization, great food, updated room, heated pool, nice decoration throughout and we liked the architecture of the buildings. It is really... More

This is a stunning property, graced by one of the most wonderful restaurants in the Alta Rocca, but I cut my visit short because they made me feel unwelcome. I made the reservation and spoke to a lady in English, and never saw her again. No one else spoke English, except the waiter. HIs English was fine, though he ignored... More

The good parts- lovely setting and views, attractive "stylish-rural" buildings which make the most of setting. We chose A Pignata for the food reputation, and some of the food was very good - though we had not realised it is a set meal - so if you don't like quite a lot of meat, I would not stay here. We... The highlight was the food, a genuine Corsican experience, with genuine hospitality. The room was simple, but efficient and fit the environment. Don't miss the nearby ruins at Cucuruzzo. Very peaceful.
