This is a great resort if you're wanting explore the island. If you want to spend all of your time at the resort in the pool there are better options. Pros: Great snorkeling right off the beach. We saw an Octopus, a large barracuda, several fish and crab. There is not a sandy beach entrance which makes the water crystal clear blue. The food at the Explorean was very good. Easily the best food I've had at an all inclusive. The excursions. Having a different guided tour/excursion everyday is the top reason to choose this resort. We went to Chankanaab, a cenote, and Punta Sur. There are also other excursions as well. Some time you're able to swap excursions if you don't like the one they've scheduled you for. The guides were all awesome! Especially Julio and Rueben. Cons: The…
My husband and I returned a few days ago after spending seven nights at the Explorean. Here are our thoughts on the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: The GOOD- We give the Staff an A+. Everyone from the front desk, housekeeping, bartenders, waiters, hostesses, tour guides...Everyone was friendly and responsive. The Food gets a B+. For the most part, the food was very good, by All Inclusive standards. The drinks are decent. I didn't care for the margaritas but while I was there I discovered Mezcalitas and Palomas. Yum! My husband likes frozen Pina coloadas and the quality ranged from poor to good, depending on the bartender. We also appreciated daily housekeeping of our room. Even in higher end resorts we have been to in the last couple of years, housekeeping is only every…
Notified front desk air conditioner was not working properly. A technician was sent out to repair. Tech said air conditioner was repaired. We waited an 1/2 hour still not cooling. Report to front desk and manager said give him time to repair. Two hours later, we still heard nothing from manger in regulars s of the heat in room. So, we checked out and went to another resort.
Our group of 8, including 5 children aged 11-14, loved our experience at Explorean Cozumel. The daily outings were surprisingly fun. The diving and snorkeling at Cozumel are fantastic, with lovely purple corals everywhere. You don't even need to dive to see amazing things as you can just snorkel right off the dock. Our trips to El Cielo and Chankanaab were exceptional and gave me experiences I will never forget. Playing in the crystal clear water near sting rays that are accustomed to humans was a once in a lifetime experience. At Chankanaab, I snorkeled up to the dolphin cages and danced with a bunch of dolphins. Magical! Edgar was an amazing tour guide, especially good for English language tourists. It was lovely not having to worry about food and cleaning for a week. You…
We stayed at The Explorean Cozumel for 4 nights and had an amazing time. This was our 2nd time there. The room was clean and spacious. We really enjoyed the tours they offer; which are already included when you book your stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I was very impressed by their attention and concern when my 7 year old had an accident on the beach during one of the tours. My son was walking barefoot and something cut the sole of his foot, it was a small cut, but i asked the receptionist for a first aid kid to clean the wound. The receptionist send the nurse to our room and the manager went to check on us to make sure everything was ok. Their professionalism and care was outstanding. We also enjoyed the food and the activities/shows at night. The beach…
Wow! What a great experience. This was my first time ever snorkeling and Edgar and Vega made me feel so comfortable and stuck with me until I felt safe and was ok in my gear. I even told them it was ok to leave but Edgar stuck by my side until I swam away on my own. What an amazing experience. I may have stopped and gotten back on the boat (I asked) if Edgar hadn't stayed with me. He insisted I hang onto a life ring and offered tips to help me relax until I was comfortable. Thank you Edgar for broadening by horizons and not allowing me to miss out on an amazing experience!
Would have given this resort 5 stars easily if they could get their beach club reopened! For reference, our last 5 vacations, we have stayed at 3 different sandals and secrets aura prior to our visit to explorian. First and foremost (aside from the time we paid for xtra for a butler at sandals) this was the best service we have ever had at a resort! Anytime we sat down at a table someone was immediately there offering us drinks and to get us food. If we did order anything ourselves, we were told to go back and relax as we were and they will bring the food to us. The food at the resort at every restaurant (with the exception of the buffet) came out looking like a work of art and also tasted amazing! The restaurant at the explorian cooked everything to order and you could…
The Explorean was a great experience. My flight which has nothing to do with the hotel was not. El Explorean estaba muy seguro y fue una experienca especial para mi familia. Lo recomiendo completamente.
I would liked to thank Adrian Piste for the great experience he gave us I love the way he explains everything to us and be specific of what the tour will be also he will always made sure we were okay and safe with him the whole time we were with him! I love his energy and made everything else more fun! Thanks Adrian I would definitely come back again but with my whole family!
I was going to write a very long review for this resort but have decided to pare it down a little to keep it more simple. Up front - the resort is located in a pretty jungle towards the southside of Cozumel. It's about a 20 minute drive from the airport and 15 minutes from the ferry terminal. It's close to Chankanaab and a few other eco parks in the area. The resort is all inclusive for food, drinks and some activities. This is where I feel I need to be really clear, because my husband and I didn't understand the activities side of things before we arrived. If you are going to book this hotel, DO NOT book your own excursions anywhere else until you arrive to the hotel. The hotel assigns you an itinerary, which is the part we didn't understand before we got there. They have a…
