We stayed six nights in Le Chai de Marguerite and it was fantastic. Philippe an Pascall are perfect hosts. The rooms are a dream ( comme un reve), you feel as if you are in another century. Breakfast is more than you can eat and in summer in the most beautifull garden. On a scale from one to ten I... More

Sparkling chandeliers, antique furniture, faded toile de Jouy, jars of home made jams - not something you'd expect to find behind this heavy double door leading to Le chai de Marguerite B&B in a tiny sleepy village of Peyriac-Minervois in the south of France. Breakfast served in a charming secluded garden with birdsong drifting over from an aviary at th... More

The only regret we have about booking this establishment is that it was only for one night. We were warmly welcomed by owners, Philippe and Pascal, who have obviously put their heart and soul into making their guesthouse a bijou place to stay. Indeed, their pride in the renovation of this historic home and gardens, once owned by a wine... More

We used it as a base to visit Carcassonne and surrounding areas, it was a very good choice. What a great time. A wonderful old house well renovated, beautifully decorated in a 18th century style. Owners were terrific, friendly and helpful. Garden was a showplace complete with assortment of wildlife peacock, geese, chickens etc. all kept within a large enclosure... More

Belgian owner Phillipe and his boyfriend Pascal have put a lot of work into this old villa in a charming old village and it shows. The period furniture and antique fixtures are tasteful—mostly. (The antique dolls and “up-cycled” items are too cluttered at times.) The hosts were chatty and generous enough to open two bottles of local wine for me... More

Dear Adam, I regret that you did not want to understand that by reserving a room in the morning, you cannot cancel free of charge in the evening. Especially for a stay three days later ! Indeed, as you know, I had to refuse a request meanwhile. I also regret that you cannot understand why we do not like that... More

Step back in time and experience what French living would have been like in this once owned wine traders home, laden with antique furniture, delightful fabrics and art work on every wall, this is truly a gem of a place, only to be surpassed by the warm welcome we received form our hosts Phillip and Pascal. They were friendly, informative... More

I had a few days holiday in france and stumbled on this lovely property. If you are looking for an authentic french experience, look no further. The owners are so friendly, and ensured that my stay was perfect. I ate breakfast out in the beautiful garden, listening to birds singing, and had a beautiful peacock join me on one morning.... We had a fantastic stay at Le Chai de Marguerite. We had the 'Grenache' room which was highly comfortable for the 3 of us. This lovely property charms at every turn. It's very quaint... The couple who run it don't take credit or debit cards but the prices are low enough that shouldn't be a problem. This sleepy town is a great respite and as authentic as they come. There weren't any restaurants open when we arrived but just over the bridge into the... More
