We got a good impression on arrival. The hotel building is pretty new, modern design. pools were big and nice even we don't use them. Our experience was kind of frustrating in what have to do with the food service. The quality of food is low for the hotel rating, repetitive and not really inviting. During lunch and dinner periods we had to deal with a lot of nationals with very rude manners abusing the buffet service by serving themselves incredible amounts of food that mostly ended up in tupper containers hidden inside large handbags. These were more several families of 8 or more people and the amount of food on the tables was insulting. It happened to me, personally, to be waiting on line to serve myself ice cream and seeing adults and kids serving themselves two or three bowls each with about five or six scoops per bowl and and finishing the ice cream that should have been shared with the rest of the clients. At another time a little girl filling a dinner plate with about 30 or more slices of kiwi while her mom was watching her. We placed a complaint and for the next two days things seemed to get better but after that, not only the problem persisted but it got worse. The snack bars didn't have food most of the time. No milk on several occasions to make a coffee, no bread to make a sandwich, not even french fries. Another comment I just read mentioning cockroaches reminded me of that. I saw a couple of them crawling on the fruit isle and we were told they were going to fumigate when we reported it, which may have been done since we find, a day after, a couple of them wondering on the floor close to our table. It's too bad that a nice hotel has to go through this experiences. But to be honest, the problem with people grossly abusing the food service is happening also at other resorts we visited in the near past and mostly in the resorts at the cays. The room was OK, clean and comfortable. We believe these things have to be corrected in order to make of this resort a wonderful experience as it should be.

Room was fine. Cleaning was very good in the room. Gardens excellent. Common areas and lobby bar very nice. But.... Cockroaches were walking between the food in the buffet. We found many Cuban families, that didn't have no manners. This people, took food and puted it in their bags, containers, nobody in the hotel will said anything to them. Few days the manager showed up, and things got a bit better, once he left , things will become abusive and bad again, If you didn't arrive early to eat, the best food will be gone (there wasnt much good food). Many of us, had to eat sandwiches, because the quality of the food was really bad. The last day, when we went to have breakfast at the snack bar, they told us they didn't have milk for the coffee and no food. Asked to have permission to go to the buffet, they told us no, we went anyways and took some sandwiches and pastries, we weren't welcome at the buffet. We were hungry, we had 5 hours between the pick up and the arrival to the hotel. Some people were diabetics, other old, and other just tourist that paid for all inclusive and got the worse service ever. I never had such bad experience in Cuba. American people buy packages to Cuban families and that is ok, but they need to respect the tourist . One good way to stop abuse it will be not to allow people to bring bags into the buffet. Sorry Cuba, sad to see you like this.

Love love hotel. We were first greeted by armando at the swim up bar his service and friendly nature put us at home. Yanara took pictures and created a beautiful friendship ceremony with flowers, pictures and drinks. Jack greeted us at the buffet every day with his infectious smile, the guys by the beach taught salsa yoga took us out on boats and we played beach volleyball. The night entertainment hosted by jorge and wacho were the best. They work late at night up early and still got up to see us off. I was so sad saying goodbye and wanted to pack them in our suitcase. We felt like family. There are gyms and tennis courts my bf enjoyed. The rooms were always cleaned with special messages left for us. My advice dont forget benedryl and afterbite and bug spray the mosquitoes in cuba are bad this time of year and bring spices. Bring american or canadian to tip and bring items luke medications incase you need them and to leave them for the staff as they are hard to get. Great place ,

Met Alfredo by the gym he was truly great. Every time we go to the gym he welcomes us as if we are brothers. He gave me and my friend nicknames which made us feel special. Honestly the best vacation experience I’ve ever had. God bless to Alfredo and all the works there

We had a awesome trip to Dhawa, rooms were clean and cleaned everyday, ala carte restaurants were good, buffet was a little repetitive , but always something to eat. Special shout out to Jack, Yillian and Adianoz, excellent service at the buffet, and always service with a smile.

I stayed at Dhawa for a week in September 2022. Iee been to Cuba 6 times before. The room are gross and smelled aweful, we asked to see other rooms and upgraded to an ocean view. Which is not really ocean view but anyways the room seemed better. All week at the buffet there was tons of fly on the food and in our drinks. Theres Cockroaches walking all over the counters and the food at the buffet it was disgusting and didnt feel like eating all week. As for the room we started getting what looked like mosquitoes bites all over our legs and our body. We ended up looking at the mattress on the room and it was infested with bed bugs.. we did tell the front desk and all they did was changed the bed sheet. Also the blankets looked like they havent been washed in a very long time and smelled like sweat. For the beach, its ok not the best Ive seen. We cross over to the hotel in front to use the bank and walk to the beach there. It is way much nicer and we ended up using that beach all week. Security at the other hotel would not let us in something but we just said we needed to go to the bank. Because theres no bank at Dhawa. It was disgusting and I was happy leaving. To be honest theres alot of nice places in Cuba, I would never return to this hotel.

Starting from the airport, YYZ and plane are still requiring the wearing of masks but no lines or issues. Plane was only 3/4 full so we had an empty seat beside us. Cuba and SNU, masks not required. Bus ride to the hotel was about 1.25 hours with great commentary and lots to see. Check-in at hotel Dhawa was fast as only 8 people got off the bus. Lobby was large and very clean and inviting, and they brought us a welcoming cocktail, everyone was friendly and courteous. Being low season and still recovering from the covid lull, the hotel only using 2 of the 11 buildings on the property. So, I figured 20% capacity, we were taken to our room in building 3, beautiful, large, bright and very clean on 2nd floor with a perfect balcony view of the ocean. The hotel was well maintained, the grounds were meticulously maintained, and the flowers were all in bloom (thanks to Nester and the crew) and everything at this resort was close by. The pool was beautiful and large, 2 levels, crystal clear and warm with a swim up bar. The beach was spectacular, about a 1/2 kilometer long to the Angsana hotel. The water was clear calm and warm, and the beach was clean and never issues with lounge chairs or palapas and Leo (nautical team) was more than happy to take you out for a catamaran ride to see this beautiful beach from a different perspective, he could really make that boat fly! Now, being at low occupancy, it was a wonderful time to get to know the staff as they had the time to talk and laugh. This is where this hotel really excels, all of the staff are wonderful people, so helpful and make a real effort to get to know you. They are all very good at what they do, and they made this vacation very special for us. Each area of the hotel had excellent staff. During our 2 weeks we had the pleasure of 2 of the best chambermaids that kept our room 0332 spotless with clean sheets, towels and amenities throughout our stay and of course complete with beautiful towel art! Everything you need for a great stay and the ocean view was a dream. The bars had excellent bartenders that kept us well watered, Henny, Luis and Yordan at the beach bar had us laughing and singing and even dancing at times; we had so much fun there. Pool bar, Armadndo and Ladiana were perfect hosts, always keeping our glasses full and our interest peaked with their witty conversation. Armando was even kind enough to bring us some bananas from his home; what great guy! The lobby bar also had many great people to help you; Randy and Giancarlo come to mind, but there were many more, and you can't forget Omar in the Havana Club he was the perfect bartender, very formal, who could make anything you wanted including the "Omar Special" well shaken (presentation is everything)! We had many great conversations with Omar who enlightened us with many rum facts and Cuban history. The buffet also had excellent staff who made our mealtime an experience; thanks to Helen, Gabrial, Ronald, Yalenia and we can't forget Valentine and Jack and of course Roxy who would make our crepe's fancy in the morning. At the Alacarte, we were taken care of professionally by Magdelina and at the 24hr restaurant, Ricardo always had a smile and Rene made the best pizza. I would also like to mention Sergio who was the F&B Manager who put together this great team, Sergio who is always available to engage in conversation, being there 16 hours a day and always on the floor; a very interesting gentleman. There are no covid restrictions at the hotel, but the remanence of covid still remains. They still have issues getting certain items, lending to shortages in food, alcohol/wine and mix, each day would be different. What they did have, was decent, as you could always find something to eat or drink and they always made the best of what was available. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would go back to this hotel. the area is spectacular (also, if you like to walk there is an adjacent Salinas beach which extends about 3 kl to the Villa Los Brujas and the Marina) We would like to Thank all the staff at Dhawa for making our vacation the excellent time it was. Stayed a week here with my husband and my 1.5 year old and we had the best time! The staff was amazing and accommodating from the moment we stepped off the bus. We were very impressed with the food selection given the supply chain shortage currently happening, we never had an issue finding ourselves or our daughter something to eat. The resort itself was very clean at all times. The only issue I had found was the restrooms in the lobby or close to the buffet, always seemed to be out of toilet tissue when I went in (lol). This resort is amazing and I would recommend highly.

I've traveled a lot and always stay at hotels for business but this time I went with my wife to relax and try to have a peaceful weekend and these guys over and above to give us the best weekend ever. We went to the hotel and the General Manager greeted us personally (Mr. Robert Perez). We got a room that felt very clean and inviting, and let me tell you that the view was awesome. The beach was so nice that we spent one entire day there and the staff was so helpful. at night we were having drinks, cocktails (you have to try some of them, it will blow your mind). The food was so good that I tried to get the recipes from some staff. Breakfast was delicious, as well as lunches. The last night we had a romantic dinner organized by the hotel that my wife wife asked me to merry her again... that was so funny. Long story short, is a hotel very much worthed the trip, the price and the entire experience, highly recommended for anybody, as we saw some families as well around the area. Whoever loves the Caribbean must go there and let the staff pamper you from the moment you get out of the taxi.
