Stayed here on April 15th to 17th.

Probably a lot of traveller like this is because its situated about 5 minutes walk from Zhongxiao Fuxing MRT station and Sogo Mall. We choose this hotel because our relatives lived within 10 minutes walk.

The hotel lobby is on 3rd floor. There is elevator to the 3rd floor (Saw previous reviewer stating there is no elevator). Probably he/she was talking about 4th floor. There are no elevator on the 4th floor. The climb to 4th floor can be tedious if you have a huge luggage.

From Airport to the hotel

We took Evergreen bus number 5201. The stop is MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing. After you get off the bus walked, walked toward the NET(clothing store) at the corner and follow along the walkway. Some landmark you will pass-by are Kao Chi Restaurant, Deja-vu hotel. Look into google map.

Lobby

On 3rd floor, there is an elevator. Staff are very friendly. Getting to your room, you need to pass through a glass door via your hotel card. I guess it’s pretty secure. Without that card, you practically cannot reach your room. So, take your hotel card with you when you leave the room.

Room

Room is small. If you have two large 28inch luggage, it can be a hassle. Once you open up both the luggage, you can hardly walked. Some traveller will not mind. We don’t either because we know it’s going to be a small room.

NOTE:
their standard room have NO WINDOWS. If you don’t mind this minor issues, there is no problem.
Fourth floor room are not reachable by elevator. You need to carry your luggage up from the lobby.

All modern amenities in the room are there. For example, safety box, coffee & tea, hair dryer, 5 to 6 electrical jacks and shampoo and bath gel.

Toilet seat is the best. Have heat and the Japanese style dispenser.

Breakfast

You need walk to 5th floors to get it. If you are travelling with elderly person, you need to be aware of this minor issue.

Breakfast - 4 selection :

1) Porridge with other add-on
2) DIY grill sandwich - they provide the cheese, slices of hotdog, onions, green onion and other vege. Put everything into the bread and do your diy. There is timer.
3) Toast bread, Bao and Mantou.
4) DIY - Waffle

There have selection of machine brewed coffee or ground coffee.or tea.

Laundry Machine

There is laundry and dryer.

Overall, we had a pleasant stayed. Nothing to complain.

We were quite worried about the reviews when we booked the hotel. However when we reached the building, it is not as creepy and old when we went through the main entrance. The lift up to the reception is old and in need of renovation. But i believe is is not up to the hotel as the building is not manage by them.

Room is big enough for 2 person and we definitely had a good night sleep with the sealy bed . We were given the room that is the same level as the receptionist level, so we do not need to carry our luggage up. Note that some rooms might need to carry your own luggage up the stairs.

We were give breakfast vouchers for 2 cafes; 1 is right below and another is a short walking distance. Choose the 2nd cafe as the food is much better. It is also very near to the mrt blue line.

thing to note: if you prefer windows in a room, this might not suit you as there is no windows even for deluxe double. As most of the time we are not in the room, we do not mind not having a window.

In one of my frequent visit to Taipei, I've decided to give this hotel a try given the rave reviews on TripAdvisor.

They are not wrong - the hotel is located within minutes of walk to the ZhongXiao FuXing junction, one of the prime locations in Taipei (more for female shoppers than business, I guess) - which can access almost anywhere with ease.

The hotel itself felt recently renovated and seems to be converted from an older commercial building(s) - which means there NO Windows. This may not suit some travelers. However the room itself has great designs (compared to other budget hotels I've been to). The breakfast is very basic but managed to cover both east (congee) and west (self-made waffle / toasts).

The service is top notch and I'm very impressed given the nature (budget) of it. E.g. you can borrow almost anything (including tapes and strings for wrapping boxes, portable wifi (fee/day), etc). The reception is on 3/F with no internal lift - however they are happy to bring your luggage to your room for you. Well done to the management team.

For the price it's definitely one of the best value budget hotel around in Taipei. It also seems to have some sister hotels around in other locations which I'd give them a try too. Highly recommended.

The staff was friendly and the check-in was smooth. Unfortunately the room 306 had an air conditioning problem so they kindly moved me to room 506 after the first night.

The new room was fine, but the WiFi was not too good on the 5th floor. The rooms have no windows but they are well-equipped. There are no wardrobes as is common in Asian hotels - there were only 3 coat hangers. There were plenty of bathroom amenities though - toobhbrush, toothpaste, razor and shaving cream, shower cap, comb and cotton wool buds and soap bar. There were shower gel and shampoo dispensers in the shower. MAJOR ADVANTAGE: UNIVERSAL PUG SOCKETS!! The plug sockets allow you to plug British plugs in directly with no need for an adaptor!

Two bottles of mineral water provided free of charge daily. The room only had a shower. Breakfast is provided and vouchers are given for either Food Life (a nice cafe nearby) offering your choice of toasted sandwich, hash brown and tea/coffee, or at a cafe outside the entrance offering a pastry and hot drink.

The entrance to the hotel is a bit bizarre - it is a deserted area with a lift to the 3rd floor reception area. Don't be put off though - even though the entrance area is desolate the hotel inside is fine!

We had problem looking for the hotel as the signs and entrance is quite hidden. You won't believe your eyes when Google Maps tells you that you have arrived at your destination to find a really run down building = your hotel! Took the lifts up to reception to check in. Check in process was smooth and we went to our room. To our surprise, the room was very nicely equipped, clean and modern. Beds were comfortable, sheets were clean, toilet was well equipped and clean. Rooms were a little small as we had 2 big luggages and had to fit them at the walkway between the beds and toilet. Location of the hotel is quite central as there are lots of f&b around the hotel and it's close to the station.

Dear valued guest, Thank you for your comment! Glad to know you like our room. We do our best to make the room as comfortable as possible. One thing to mention, we use 5 star hotel's bed Sealy to make our guests a good night sleep. For the entrance, zctually we have a main entrance which does not look so bad...I figure may be you were coming from another entrance to the hotel as there are 2 entrances. The building is not so beautiful and we could not do anything about it but we could improve the sign for people to find it easily. Thank you for sharing your feeling and information. We hope you will come to visit us next time!

As mentioned in some posts, the entrance to hotel is difficult to locate and was very disappointed when we chanced upon the lift lobby which is old and shabby. Almost wanted to give up but went up since we have paid for the rooms. The reception is only man by one staff which we saw on most days. Despite coming in after check in time, our rooms are not ready. The reception is done in modern and is simple. Was told that breakfast is served on the 5th floor without elevator hence you need to climb 2 levels to reach it.

On entering the room, was surprised it is modern and spacious which earlier fears were not necessary. Very clean and nice looking rooms!!

The hotel is located within 5 mins walking distance to the subway station and is in the hub of activities. Very well located indeed and close to what you need. However, I was quite disturb by the run down building if you can put that aside, it will get my 4 stars rating.

Breakfast is serve in a nice lounge with a wall sized screen and have a simple but good spread of food.

Overall would still recommend this hotel if you want to be in the central Taipei.

When I was reading reviews of this hotel, I was a bit hesitant to book. But since I was having a bit of difficulty finding accommodation for my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 older kids), I went ahead and booked a Family Room.

Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge. Even our van driver had trouble finding the place since the building has no sign.

The "hotel" is in the same building as Via Hotel. You have to go to the lobby of Via to claim your key. Finding our room was also tricky. The "hotel" is not exactly a hotel. Its an apartment building with several rooms that have been converted into suites.

When we found our suite...I didn't expect it to be so cozy....and BIG!!!

Our 1-bedroom suite had 2 queen beds, a kitchen, a living room, a small dining room, and a washing machine. It also happened to be right smack in the middle of Da-An and had easy access to the MTR. Nearby were the Sogo Malls. And food wasn't a problem because there were numerous restaurants, food stalls, and convenience stores within walking distance.

I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Taipei.

spent two nights in Taipei for business, supposed to be three but a typhoon delayed arrival. I called the hotel to let them know I wasn't a no show, just a day late and the booking was immediately amended to 2 nights instead of 3 which was a great start.

I found this place online, pics were good, prices heavily discounted so I got a bargain - I'd have been a touch upset if I paid full price. it's not a business hotel, think instead of budget tourists. facilities are shared with a next door hotel (restaurant / biz center) neither of which I used. unless you read Chinese there's no signs for the hotel either but once you find it, it's friendly, clean and comfortable. slept great both nights.

also in the middle of the action, plenty of food and shopping within walking distance, both international and local, good public transport connections as well. also a karaoke bar where Summer, Asleigh, Rihanna and Bebe all listened to my awful singing - good Chinese names one and all!!

my business contacts were all a little shocked I was staying here and may not use this place again for a biz trip but if I come here on holiday and need a place for a night before moving on, I'd def stay here again.

Loved the location within 10mins walking distance to the metro, convenience stores, large shopping malls, eateries, and 24 hot foot reflexology massage spots.

In terms of facilities this hotel is pretty spare. Rooms are compact - beds are nice, lobby is quirky... there seems to be a business centre and some meeting rooms. WiFi is reliable. Breakfast is at 2, different spots - either at a roadside cafe (more food options) or a coffee shop downstairs (well, coffee and pastries).

It’s a step above hostels and a step below large, global chains. The entrance could use a bit of sprucing up (lift had broken glass held together with some tape) but all in all, I good. I would consider staying here again for the price.
