This hotel is located on one of the main roads in downtown Taipei. It is within a 5 minute walking distance to the Metro Station and Plenty of Taxi or bus service available on the Fuxing Road.
The lobby, elevator, hallway and room is small, but, very clean. The room I had was narrow, barely enough width to fit 2 night stands on each side of the bed. The bed, linen, and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was tiny, but, decent. Overall, clean, and offers the traveller a comfortable environment to sleep in.
Breakfast area is quite small, offering mostly local breakfast selections.
The best selling point for this hotel is its location and convenience accessing most of Taipei's main commercial districts and attractions. It's a decent choice for business and leisure travellers that wants a piece of quietness in mid-price range hotel choice in the downtown area.

Although very clean & quiet, we found our room to be small, dark & with very limited storage for a 6 night stay. There is a tiny wardrobe mainly filled with a cabinet for the safe, no sets of drawers. We had to leave clothes in packing cubes.
The breakfast is ok - buffet style, perfectly acceptable.
There is no bar and just a small public space around the lobby to sit.
In all, the service is good, it is fine for business trips, but not for leisure! When we return we’ll stay elsewhere.

I would say it was 3+ rather than 4-. The biggest problem for me was the size of the room vs the price I paid. It was fully booked though, but I don't think I will be staying there next time I am in Taipei. No offense, the staff was friendly and quite professional and location is very good, but I need more comfort.

We were almost at the hotel with our luggage when we were forced to change accommodation due to their terrible service. It's truly embarrassing for Taiwanese people, extremely unfriendly to non-local/foreign customers. They accepted orders and sent confirmation letters, but then, citing system malfunctions, demanded additional payments, wasting customers' time and energy without much remorse.

Traveled to Taiwan in Dec. 2004 for two weeks. Stayed at the Fullerton 41 for 2 nights. Very nice place to stay, very clean and nicely decorated. It is only a very short walk (2 mins) to the Da An metro station. The lobby is small but the decor is very clean and simple. The color is very Zen using beige and ivory coloring. There is a sitting room in the back of the lobby with a coffee machine, books, magazines and nice orchids decorating the tables. With your stay, you also get to use their exercise room, and their sauna/spa for free. I didn't get to use it, but my sister did and she said it's very nice and clean. I stayed in the Deluxe Room and it is VERY nice. There is a DVD/CD player, the lighting is built into the ceiling, and the style is bright studio lighting (I'm not sure what they are called, maybe track lighting?). Their stereo sound is also built into the ceiling. There is a touch screen master remote control of all lighting, TV, and music in the room. The bathroom is a nice size with a tub and a shower stall. My only complaint is that even with the Deluxe room, the room size is fairly small. There is free breakfast included with your stay. The food is both east and west, we got the scrambled eggs but also porridge (rice cooked with water), there is a wide variety of food to chose from and it is good. There is a 24 hour business center with free internet, printing, and copying service. This is a VERY nice place to stay, with English speaking staff that is very helpful. Close to the metro station and it is not noisy at all even though it's right next to a major street. I would definitely stay there again. The cost for me was NT$3,300/nt. It is best to make reservations right on their website so you know what you are getting. They offer a 40% internet discount when you reserve with them. I know that there are other internet discount websites that offer to make reservations for you, but you don't know what kind of a room you are getting.

I've stayed at this hotel twice in the last two years, and my experience has been exceptional in both cases. The hotel itself is modern and new. It is beautiful and well decorated down to the small details. Both times I stayed here, the rate more than fair, although I noticed that the price had gone up a little over the last year. But make no mistake—it’s still a really good bargain compared to what you’d get in America for the same amount of money. (90 – 110 US$)

The Superior rooms are a little small by western standards, so go with an Executive room if you’re going to be hanging out in your room a lot and/or space is really important to you. (The difference is about 10 or 15 US dollars.)

The staff were very helpful in assisting me find different places in the city, hailing a cab for me, et cetera. All, except the doorman, could speak pretty good English, too. Best of all, everyone was really friendly and made me feel comfortable. I will say, however, that the manager seemed to always be looming over me and his staff, which kind of made me feel a bit weird sometimes. Perhaps I am nitpicking…

They have a free broadband connection in every room, but if you didn’t bring your laptop, you can always go down to the business center on the main floor. There, they have four computers with broadband access (and two printers). They also have a free breakfast buffet every morning, which offers both a western and eastern style breakfast. I think they even have a fitness room, but I didn’t use it and/or look for it. Of course, they have free cable with the standard movie channels, CNN, et cetera.

The location is great. It’s just a five (probably more like three) minute walk to the DaAn (TaAn) MRT stop. There’s no question that, if I ever return to Taipei, I will be staying at the Fullerton41.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel, and was very impressed. It is a cool, small boutique-type hotel with an upscale feeling.
The location is right by the MRT station, there are restaurants and shopping nearby, breakfast was included, and you use can use the computers in the business center for free.

To top it off, their service must be commended as well...I left 2 shirts in my room closet when I checked out. I emailed the hotel about this, and they found the shirts, and are now they are mailing them back to me!

Overall, it was a great hotel and even a better value!
Highly recommended.

I stayed here for 5 nights. I stayed in a Deluxe Room. This does not contain a tub as stated by another reviewer. I'm sorry to say that I had problems with the air conditioning from the start. For the first night, it was impossible to reduce the temperature to a bearable level. After complaining the next morning, some work was done which reduced the temperate but not to a level which I would really consider acceptable for a hotel of this supposed quality, charging over US$100 per night.

With regard to the control panel referred to previously, it was not working properly and I consider it to be unnecessarily complicated. Whenever I wanted to adjust the air conditioning all the lights came on; the clock function did not work and the alarm function did not work. It wouldn’t control the TV, referring me to the remote control (neatly stored in a leather cover!). The air conditioning continuously reset itself warmer and in order to keep the temperature down I had to check it regularly.

The breakfast – which is not FREE but rather included in the price, is good quality. The inclusion of the Internet connection is definitely a good thing.

The 40% Internet discount is also deceptive; there is 40% off the room rate but then they apply the full 10% service charge, which applies to the original price. For the deluxe room it works like this – room rate NT$ 5000 less 40% = NT$ 3000 plus 10% of NT$ 5000 (NT$500) = NT$ 3500.

I tried to discuss these issues with the many managers hovering around all the time but, either because of their limited understanding of English, or because of the Taiwanese ethos, I didn’t get anywhere. Even with the air conditioning at first, they seemed to have trouble believing that there could be anything wrong.

I did consider moving to the Fu-Hau Hotel that is only just up the road, looks reasonable and is half the price – check it out they have their own internet site - [-]

On the positive this hotel is clean and efficient, very good reception service and is in a great location.
The air con system is efficient (and most welcome when it feels like 44 dgr outside !) and the power shower is excellent.
Room size is also adequate and the beds a good size .
On the negative, the rooms are fairly dull in terms of decoration and feels slightly dated. some rooms to the front of the hotel have double if not triple glazing, however the ones to the rear are single glazed so actually slightly more noisy.
The breakfasts are basic offering a token of both Asian and European although nothing to write home about on either fronts !.
My first allocated room offered smelt of cigarette smoke , remaining from a previous occupant ( of which it is illegal to smoke in the hotel as in most hotels around the world) , alas some customers have an issue in understanding refraining from smoking or the legal requirement, alas this isn't the fault of the hotel as there were adequate signage within the rooms. Having pointed this out to the reception they rapidly moved me to another room.
The hotel is only 5 mins gentle walk to the fantastic underground services that can easily and efficiently transport you around the city and conference building 101 just a few stops away with a train every 30 seconds !.

I seldom write review for hotels that I stay in... But this hotel really get to my nerve that I cannot simply ignore it!!!

Booked 4 rooms for my travel party from 11/11/2013 - 16/11/2013. And all my traveling party were utterly disappointed with the hotel!
1. Feedback from my brother and my parents: I had bigger rooms in Tokyo, Japan. Next time should just stick to Tango Taipei.
- the rooms are so freakishly small that I seriously question the room size they place on Booking.com
2. Feedback from my best friend: they booked a room with a description saying that the room (Fullerton Room) comes with a bathtub and they needed the tub to bath their kids. And when they checked in, the Fullerton room given to them was one without!!! First call to the reception by them, recep just told them "Sorry, all Fullerton room with bath tub has been taken up, we can provide you with a plastic portable baby tub!" When I heard this, I felt that was ridiculous!!! I called and had to kick a big fuss before they gave them a few options to compensate them!
3. For my family, I booked their VIP Suite, as I need the extra room space (the living area) for my kid to run around. And when I open the door to my room, I was shocked to see that it was jus a bigger room with a seating area n bedding area separated by a CURTAIN!!! This was totally different from the picture I saw from Booking.com!!!! I called and again I was just told that all VIP Suite with a separate living area was occupied and they are left with this VIP Suite. I told them this was not what I was buying into. I felt totally cheated!!!
- the issues with point 2 and 3 are... They do not honor what they put out on Hotel Booking website!!!
- what was shown has the possibility of being different from the actual thing.. Which I feel, it will give the consumer the lost of trust whether will they get what they see and buy into!!!

I concluded... I will never stay in fullerton south ever again!!!
