Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The reason for my stay this time was that my mother needed to recuperate after surgery. It happened to be during the long Easter holiday, so the rooms were quite tight, so I finally chose Hongdu Golden Palace.
Due to special needs, I wrote an email to the hotel in advance and made some special requests to the hotel. I received a kind reply from the hotel on the same day, which made me feel relieved.
When we arrived, as shown in the hotel photo, the front door was the front door. The counter had to take the elevator to the second floor. As soon as the elevator door opened, the counter staff immediately noticed us and said hello. When we checked in, we also confirmed the special services mentioned in the email.
The room assigned this time is on the 5th floor, facing the inner street. The room is large enough. Although it can be seen that it has history, it is not shabby or shabby at the same time. It can be seen that it has been maintained with great care. The room is also very quiet. However, if the neighbors outside come in and out, they will hear it if they speak loudly or open and close the door, but this is understandable. The important thing is that after staying for a few days, I didn't hear much from the neighbors. The glass is large but the sound insulation is very good. Even the sound of rain is isolated, so it is quiet enough to sleep.
The hotel does not provide disposable items. The shower room comes with shampoo and body soap, as well as towels, bath towels and hair dryers. Drinking water, biscuits, tea bags and coffee bags are also provided. Umbrellas and disposable items are provided in the closet. Slippers; breakfast coupons for Mos Burger are also provided every morning, and you can dine at the nearby Mos Burger.
The hotel is within a 10-minute walk from Linjiang Street Night Market. It turns into a vegetable market in the morning, which is very interesting. If you take the MRT, it will take a long walk, but because the hotel is right next to Dunhua South Road, if you want to go to Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT Station, you can get there in a short time by bus, so it is not very inconvenient. These days, the main way to go anywhere in Taipei is by bus.
Overall, my mother has had a good rest in the hotel these days. Thank you to everyone at Hongdu Golden Palace Hotel. Please continue to work hard and will stay here next time you come to Da'an District.

This is a fairly standard hotel with some shortcomings. Price point typically comes with better services and amenities. Parking is free but challenging as one has to call the hotel every time you want to enter the lift to reach the subterranean parking. Breakfast is free but at a fast food restaurant more than a block away. There is no bidet which is not a real issue, but no toilet brush and no hand soap. Room cleaning and resupplying towels and toilet paper are limited. Staff speaks adequate English. Plenty of great food options within easy walking.

Great value Hotel, stayed here for 3 weeks, tried and tested all of the rooms from standard to suite. Rooms didnt dissapoint, spacious and have all required equipment, some have a clear view of Taipei 101!!! Fresh water bottles every day, everything i asked i got from iron to change of bed sheets and so on... Staff: these guys are amazing, they will do anything for the customer, always smiling, willing to go an extra mile for you, they even stored my luggages for a week free of charge after my stay while i was traveling to Thailand. Breakfast: they provide you with a voucher to Moss burger, or you may treat yourself to toast, jam and crossants in dining area, so up to you. I did both, depending on mood. All in, it was a great expierence and very good value, considering the costs of hotels around this was one of the cheapest, so expectations were exceeded. MRT is around 8mins walk from hotel, loads of restaurants, shops around. Would come here again without a doubt, especially to meet the friendlest staff i have ever known.. Hotels is not new thats a fact, and of course some renovation would be welcome, but considering the cost of accomodation the value is outstanding. Thank you for a warm welcome and wonderfull stay in your hotel, hope to see you again!!!!

It is a dated property with very old ugly furniture, torn wall paper, old bathroom fittings. Male Staff in evening shift very rude. Lobby stinks with a very bad smell. They sale room as city view and charge more but actually give back side hotels which are facing an old and ugly apartment. For breakfast, they give voucher of an outlet which is around 400 mtr. Away with very limited food options. Please Don’t get fascinated with the pictures shown on various booking engines (we booked th. Booking.com based on their high ranking, but this hotel does not deserve that ranking), it is a very bad, ugly and dated hotel.
Bed, bed linen, bath linen all are of very inferior quality, bath fittings are very old, toilet seat cover pale yellow. The staff solicits to do fake review on various booking engines, travel sites/app etc. and in turn they offer the bribe in shape of late check out for next stay and some other benefits. It is a very limited service hotel, we only saw one rude staff on night and one polite lady in morning. In the name of environment, they did not provide any toiletries for room which looked cheap cost control exercise rather than a sustainability initiative. The old rooms, low lights, window towards an old condominium, patches in wall paper, noise coming from side room etc. makes it a haunted hotel and we could not sleep during our stay. Worst thing, for our 3 rooms booked, they gave all rooms on 3 different floors which is a stupidity and not welcoming.
We will never stay in such a run down hotel which is a black spot for hotel industry & country of operations.
We regret to book rooms here and it has ruined our experience of Taiwan Travel.

Great hotel. My wife and I stayed here for 11 nights. Jane (General Manager) and her team were fantastic, very helpful and courteous, made us feel very welcome. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Conveniently located within 12 minutes walk of MTR stations on the red and the brown lines, and only 5 mins walk to the nearest main bus route, so this hotel was a fabulous base for exploring the city. Breakfast vouchers for choice of 3 local establishments within 3 minutes walk (Peter Better’s coffee shop was our favourite). Thoroughly recommended. Well done!

Beautiful and comfortable room at a very reasonable rate. Not only is the hotel located in a very convenient location (central, manydining options and night markets nearby), the service is also top-tier. I was greeted by a very friendly and helpful desk manager upon arrival. I had arrived much earlier ahead of time as I took a morning flight, and she helped to expedite a room for me almost at once. Did I also mention that my room came with almost a jacuzzi-sized bathtub? Will definitely come back again for my next trip.

The staff is friendly, the room is spacious, and the complimentary Mos Burger breakfast is delicious. There is a three-level parking lot attached. The convenience store is very close and has a lot of things to buy, so you don’t have to worry about missing something you brought with you during your trip.

I had a room by the corner with the view of Taipei 101 during the yearend, making my stay the best. My room was well-appointed and clean. The hotel is strategically located near major areas, adding value to your stay. I stayed here 10 years ago but things seemed to have changed over the years.

Great location and a nice cosy hotel where all the staff practically know you by name. Room was comfy and able to provide a good nights’ rest. There’s no in-house restaurant, but I love that they have a complimentary 24/7 self service coffee and tea bar, I definitely had at least two coffees per day. Most outstanding is the service, everyone is so warm and friendly which makes you feel very welcome, in true Taiwanese fashion!

We stayed at this hotel on a recent visit to Taipei. It has a good location in the Da'an area of Taipei. It is very close to a good night market, close to subway and transit. The hotel itself is rather tired and in need of an update: old dark furniture, torn, patched wallpaper, ancient televisions. The bathrooms are new and nicely appointed and beds are comfortable. The staff at the HD Palace are sweet and try hard to make you comfortable.

You can take the No.1960 bus from taoyuan airport, the fee is 145 per person, the nearest bus stop from our hotel is Far Eastern Hotel where you can reach our hotel approx. 3 minutes. Thank you.
There is no direct bus/train but the nearest MRT station is Xinyi Anhe around 8 mins walk. But you can get a taxi from the airport, it won't cost that expensive in Taipei. From Taoyuan to City by cab takes around 45 mins already.
"A bit further from neatest Metro station than some other hotels out there but very enjoyable stay. Close to night market so very convenient if you want a late night snack"
There are more places to choose from in the Da'an area.
