Super hotel, friendly staff, good location, excellent rooms, fine restaurant, generous portions, nice breakfast, close to rail station. Well placed for visits to Mosel and Rhein villages as well as the 'star' of the area Burg Eltz. Our room was huge, with superking size bed, desk, armchair, marble topped side tables etc etc. Large balcony overlooking the river with table and chairs. Can't praise this hotel enough!... More

I stayed in Moselkern for one night at last Easter holiday and I really loved my stay here!!! This hotel is the perfect place to explore Mosel valley and Burg Eltz, just locate 100 m from train station. My room was on second floor, came with nicely decorated and furnished, tv, and lovely balcony with village view. The room on... More

This was a great place to stay on the Mosel and hike to Burg Eltz. (Thank you Rick Steves) Our balcony overlooked the river. It was beautiful. The room was clean, bright and cheery. There is a really cool bowling alley in the basement that my husband loved. One word of advise when staying in Moselkern. Make sure you bring... More

This was our three night stay at a central location that would allow us to explore the Mosel and Rhine valleys as well as hike to Burg Eltz (thanks Rick for the tip; it was so cool!) Hotel Moselkern was delightfully old-fashioned (doing a 70’s décor thing). It was very clean and well kept. The restaurant served great food. We... More

I returned to M oselkern this year specifically to stay over a weekend in order to make the 5km hike to see and visit Berg (castle) Eltz. Based on previous reviews I choose Hotel M oselkern and was not disappointed. The cost for a single bed room with private bathroom for two nights was less than i would need to... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night in September 2014. We were there mid-week and I guess it was not the busy season as the entire town seemed deserted. We arrived by train and the hotel was an easy walk from the train platform. Our room was big enough, mattresses were nice and firm. But the bed linens... More

Excellent location if you are travelling by train. Even with luggage it is an easy walk from the station. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed our dinner in the hotel restaurant and breakfast the next morning. The hike from the hotel to Burg Eltz is well marked and very manageable.

Pleasant family run hotel. Lovely welcoming service. Great food. Excellent location. Simple basic rooms. Lovely spot for a few days on the Mosel or as a base for a week's touring around. Burg Eltz worth a visit and walk able from hotel. Great terrace and space for kids to play in front of hotel.

We stayed here a couple nights near the end of a bike tour along the Mosel. It is mentioned in Rick Steves' book but downplayed a bit, but I think it is undersold...it was clean and comfortable, great location if you're interested in biking/hiking to Burg Eltz, or taking the bus if you don't want to hike in the rain... Last minute booking. We had a very small room with two separate beds because the hotel was full. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Rooms aren't big but clean. Location is great, next to Burg Eltz and other villages next to the Mosel river. Breakfast is ok but also not impressive. Didn't had a great night because of the beds.... More
