Stayed here with a friend on my mini holiday to Germany. We arrived at night in the dark and was a tad over whelming/terrifying (when not a local or living in Germany) it's a typical, lovely German village/town. And in daylight shows its true beauty. The restaurant is below and is lovely. The staff are really lovely and welcoming (even... More

Lovely place a short walk from the Moselkern train station. The rooms are adjacent to the restaurant/pub so it can get a bit rowdy at night, but for a tourist seeking the local flavor this is perfect. I had the room at the top and it had a very interesting layout (see pics). The bed was comfortable though the pillows/comforters... More

We arrived late on a Thursday afternoon and the whole area was completely dead. We had trouble figuring out where to go in (go in the front door of the restaurant and walk all the way to the back, or go around to the back and go in). The young woman running the bar was not so pleasant at first... More

My husband and I stopped here five years ago by accident (looking for lunch coming from Cochem), and being a Sunday, it was a ghost town. However, we found this wonderful restaurant with the best food and service! So, five years later and travelling with my family, we had to go back. We found it again, and once again, the... More

Nice above average hotel. The staff was very friendly, pleasant and accommodating. The dinner meals were average however the breakfast buffet was Very Good! I have read some of the reviews complaining of small room, no elevator, and loud Church bells. When you're traveling in Europe and staying in small villages these are things that are quite common. We did... More

The shower was brand new and very nice and the room was recently renovated with Ikea type furniture. It's in town next to a residence so the neighbors can be a little bit noisy at night. They don't take credit cards so prepare and bring euros. They also don't speak English so there was lots of gesturing but they are... More

Stayed at this little bed and breakfast overnight so I could visit Berg Eltz. Cute little place and perfect for a single guy exploring castles. The proprietress was classically German. I asked for directions to the castle. Then your wimpy reporter asked whether their might be a taxi. She replied in her best prison guard voice, "you vill walk." Having... More

This is a very pleasant little guesthouse in a beautiful valley. It's about a seven minute walk from the train station, although the train from Koblenz is a little pricey. The room was very spacious, very warm, clean, no bugs, and I felt very safe. The staff didn't seem to speak very much English, but we got along fine. I... More

This is a must if you are a big group wanting a nice relaxing stay- it is family run so there is not a lot of staff waiting on you, but service was always quick at the bar even though there was 38 of us asking the one bar lady for drinks! The breakfast was German style- offered a nice... More

We spent the weekend here with a group of friends, and our kids, to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. There were 38 of us and we stayed for 2 nights, eating dinner in the hotel on Saturday night. The food is simple but was freshly cooked for all of us and was good and very hot. We then went into... More
