It was my first experience of a home stay and wow, it was worth it. From the gorgeous view of the Dhauladhar range, to the comfy cottages, the electric blankets, the fresh farm grown produce we consumed, the languid walks across the tea estate checking out fruit and vegetable plantations along the way, to the absolutely gorgeous in-house dogs, Casper, Brandy and Diana (who made us feel they'd known us forever), the warm and ever helpful staff, the curated sight seeing trips when we felt like stepping out, the sunny afternoon sessions, the fireplace evenings, friendly neighbours with amazing tales of yore, babaji's shrine with blessings galore - everything was perfect. One just didn't feel like leaving. But the best part was the feisty and spunky owner, Neeraji. She runs the place with her hubby ( who was away visiting his son it being vacay time) and makes you feel like part of the family. Half the wonder and draw of the place is her charm, charisma and desire to make you feel at home. Up in the wee hours and on her feet till late into the night, she is truly the "life" of Darang. A must visit, rather a must long stay!

Awesome experience of staying on a tea plantation. Very homely experience with the hosts who have taken efforts to make you feel at home yet provide you with a vacationing experience. The entire team, including Umed-ji, are fantastic and go out of their way to make you feel at home. Food is all from farm produce and completely organic. Brilliant selections of jams and pickle. Great location, great food, great experience.

Had a relaxing holiday in the midst of the sprawling tea estate which has been passionately maintained by the Bhandaris. Awesome hospitality, sumptuous food made with homegrown ingredients and engaging discussions with the hosts made it a memorable experience! Nothing to complain. All the previous reviews are spot on.

Darang Tea Estate is a beautiful heritage property and has been lovingly maintained by the hosts. The Bhandaris are attentive hosts and ensure guests are well looked after. We spent two nights here in late-May. The two-room cottage was spacious, charmingly done and very comfortable. The gardens and the tea estate are great for walking around and to just relax in. The resident dogs, Casper, Diana and Brandy, are super friendly. Especially Casper...though be careful with your socks as Casper loves to pick them up and chew them and you will get it back only after a dog biscuit bribe! Casper and Diana followed us around during all our walks and even my typically dog-shy toddler was comfortable with the dogs. The meal prices might seem high (as has been mentioned by other reviewers), but I felt it was worth it. The meals were all delicious and the dishes were unique and interesting. Naveen uncle and Neera aunty regaled us with many stories during the meal times. By the end of our stay we felt like we were staying with family. My mom is allergic to peanuts and Neera aunty ensured that the food was made appropriately. Darang is ideal for families, especially those with young kids or with elderly parents. We stayed there at the end of a hectic holiday and it was the ideal break before the long journey back home.

i visited this beautiful property on a social visit to meet the lovely couple Neeru and Naveen Bhandari who are close friends to our family member. The cottages are old world charm and the property beautiful. Its like a gem tucked away in a lovely serene surrounding. Walking thru the tea estate and enjoying the charming hospitality of the lovely couple, I enjoyed every bit of my time there, sipping chilled beer and relishing delicious home made meal with freshly picked up organic veggies from their garden. I will strongly recommend this beautiful getaway to those who want to enjoy a quiet retreat and enjoy hospitality of the wonderful and friendly hosts.
