That just about sums up this place really. The chalet type rooms are very basic, none of the furniture is particularly comfortable especially the bed that has such a thin mattress that it felt like my hip was resting on the boards underneath. The hot water tank isn't big enough to last through two leisurely showers so you have to... More

This hotel is some 1600 m in the Himalayan foothills above Dharmsala near MacLeodganj. A former Maharajah 's residence it is spread out over many acres and the rooms are in individual lodges in the grounds. Views are expansive if you can see through the trees. Dinner is in the big hall and is simple but tasty and wholesome....and there... More

Raghubir and his team puts in a great effort to satisfy the needs of the occupants.. Betterment areas: a. The upholstery definitely needs a make over. Our party was well looked after by two young men, one of whom was an excellent cook. The rooms were basic but had everything we needed, however a fresh coat of paint would not go amiss. The grounds were not tended and there was no garden or sitting area.

Although slightly disappointed on arrival as the room was very basic, the charm of this guest house soon surpassed this initial disappointment . The staff were so kind and helpful, even putting hot water bottles in the bed. The food was possibly the best I tasted during my whole trip to India.i stayed in some lovely hotels during my holiday... More

The property has a great potential but the maintenance of its grounds has been neglected. Many rooms have been added to the property recently. They are clean and basic but the charm of staying at a palace property is completely missing. We only had breakfast at the place and spent our time in McLeodganj instead.

We stayed here as part of a group tour. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so there is no choice as to where to eat. The food in the dining room(set meals) was average. The room was cold despite using the electric fan heater. Talking to others in the group it became obvious that we were in one... More

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group. We had one of the (6) new rooms which were clean, comfortable and modern; others had older rooms that were less well appointed and, above all, cold. Even in the new rooms the owner needs to spend some money tidying up the electrics and securing trailing wires.. High spots... More

We stayed here as part of a vjv trip to Shimla and Armritser. The bedroom was very clean but also very sparse, if you do not like spiders check under your bed....they are big in this area and show up in the bedrooms along with other creepy crawlies. Do bring ear plugs otherwise the packs of roaming dogs will keep... More
