My husband and I had a fabulous stay at Via Hotel Taipei Station. The hotel is really conveniently located, and we used it as a base to walk to lots of the main sites and the ximending area. The room was spotlessly clean, and comes with a little neck massager as part of the room. They have lots of free snacks available 24/7, and as others have written, they have a soft-serve ice cream machine available as well. We also enjoyed the 2 big massage chairs in the basement game room area. We also appreciated the pocket wifi that was available for rental from the front desk at a very reasonable rate. We very much enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to return in the future.
Close to train station , 10 -15 mins walk . You might miss it if walking too fast :-) Entrance is great , front desk awesome and friendly . Has a lift :-) Snack bar is a delight and very popular ! Room is big enough , great TV , fine shower and lighting !
Best part : They held my luggage for 10 days for free while I did a tour around Taiwan. Amazingly helpful ! Location : very walkable to Taipei Main Station or Ximen Station for MRT train Walk to Ximending shops, shoes shops street, endless coffee and restaurants right outside your door. Massage chair in basement. 24/7 hour cafeteria has free drinks and basic snacks like cookies, pudding, icecream (very good quality), instant noodles, tea eggs, plain congee. Not like the good stuff you find in real food street vendors or restaurants, but just basic stuff. It’s free, can’t ask for too much. So thoughtful ! They put a toiletries box in the lobby full of many compartments. Each have things that make your life easier : hair ties, contact lens solution, mobile WiFi, safety pins, sewing kit, pantiliners, pads, cotton swabs, first aid kit, phone charger, comb, hairbrush, razor, toothbrushes. Room has a bidet on the toilet to wash your behinds. It also keeps seat warm and has a fan to suck the stinky smells. Nice ! Bed and mattress is incredibly comfortable. The double beds are HUGE !! They feel big like a California King size. Can fit 3 people on each bed. However I have to suggest please change the pillows. They don’t offer much neck support. Linens feel amazing. Towels are plush and good thick quality. Shampoo, body wash, and conditioner : Cha Tzu Tang. Apparently this is a good brand in Asia. But I didn’t like the smell or the feel of my hair much. It smelled very earthy and herbally.?But that’s just personal preference. This is an expensive brand so it’s nice they splurge on their guests. The seating area for a double 2 beds room is huge. Spacious area for luggages. Massager in the room - small back massager in room. If you use on your feet please wash your feet and put on clean socks. Very nice after long day of walking Mini fridge and tea kettle. Good tea selections. What really seals the deal for me is the staffing. They speak great English (very important) and super helpful with any of your needs. This hotel is the perfect example of how to run a business. They think of every possible detail to make your stay pleasant. My humble suggestion : Invest in a couple of ironing board and iron available to loan. Please reopen your free laundry facilities again. (They were closed when I was there ) …
Enjoyed the hotel stay tremendously. Centrally located to many MRT stations, not just the Taipei Train Station. Loved the self-service refreshments room and the laundry room facilities. Staff does an excellent job keeping the rooms and the common areas clean. Loved the nicely designed, space efficient bathroom. Got to give a thumbs up for the heated toilet seat!!! This is a first world/developed world problem (and not a complaint): the laundry room is located on the top floor that is accessible only by taking the stairs from the floor below. The steps are rather steep and could pose as a safety hazard if one was not careful coming down.
This hotel is centrally located if you want to be close to Shi-men Ting, a popular area for hipsters. It is also very close to Taipei Station-Taipei Bus Station-MRT-HRS station all in one. Hotel has snakes in the breakfast area that are free 24/7. The rooms are redecorated a few years back but are kept well. Staff is friendly and efficient.
