Short distance to the airport and walkable to nearby Mass Transit Railway station. Recently renovated but the job is haphazardly done, may be even rushed. Good prices we got but this is an expensive part of Taipei. Close to many fast food joints. Staffs here need a bit of training in customer service.
We stay here every time we come to Taipei. Since 2 years ago the hotel has renovated the rooms - new furniture and bathrooms. Though it looks nicer the carpet is still old and disgusting. And the tiles in the bathroom have holes in corners so water goes in and I’m afraid of the mold that might be in there. The best part is that they have machines for you to do laundry. Also the location is so convenient! But this last time there was a slight stench in our room that wouldn’t go away, so we might have to find another hotel next time. It’s too bad.
This is my second time staying at this hotel. They have since renovated the rooms. The room I stayed in was clean but the toilet was choked twice. We were advised not to throw toilet paper into the toilet bowl but into the toilet bin. The staff was efficient and managed to resolve the problem very quickly on both occasions. The hotel has coin-operated washing machines and dryers on levels 6 and 7 and hot, warm and cold water dispenser at the lift lobby. Exit from M8 of Taipei Main Station, turn left and cross the zebra crossing in front of 7-eleven. Continue walking straight and you will see another 7-eleven on the right. The hotel is next to the building with the 7-eleven and directly opposite a bookshop.
Location was good and convenience. Walking distance 2 minutes to Taipei MTR station. Opposite hotel have so many food stalls, family Mart, 7 Eleven and Saloon. Hotel is clean and staff were friendly. Will be back for my next visit.
I can only rave about this lodging option in Taipei. A friend who used to live here recommended it to me and it did not disappoint. Firstly, it is very affordable. Secondly, the location can't be beat -- it's only a block from Taipei Main train station, which is the central hub for High Speed Rail, Airport Express trains, MRT subway lines, buses and more. It's also walking distance to some of the most impressive sites in Taipei, including the Chiang Ka--shek Memorial, National Concert Hall, National Theater, 2/28 Peace Park, National Taiwan Museum, Presidential Office Palace, Lungshan Temple and more. The reception staff are very welcoming and friendly, speak good English, and offer free bag storage if you are travelling around the country and don't want to haul all of your bags with you. I stayed here for 6 nights and then returned at the end of my trip in Taiwan for a final night... and both of my rooms were wonderful -- spacious, comfortable, quiet, great wi-fi, and big bathrooms with nice showers. My rooms also had views out to Taipei Main station, with its impressive roof line, which was nice. Although breakfast is not included, you can get a voucher for 100 NT and eat at the YMCA Royal Host Restaurant which is in the lobby of the hotel, which is very affordable and convenient. For an additional 22 NT you can upgrade to an ever heartier breakfast, which was great. All in all, the Y Hotel Taipei felt like my home-away-from-home in Taipei and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend it!…
The ideal choice if you are looking for a room for 3, with individual beds plus close to the centre of the city, lots of cafes/restaurants plus the airport express! The price is also very good for this location. The room is in good condition but water pressure at the shower is a bit weak. Staff are helpful. We were also very concern about having a window at the room as on the official website it did mention it has a window for 3 individual beds room but we can't see it on the photo. We are glad that there is one. So I must take of photo of the room with the window.
This is my fourth time staying at Y Hotel. With a very affordable price, they are offering a comparatively spacious room. I tried triple and twin rooms, they are bigger than the rooms in other hotels with the same price range. The rooms are well-kept though not luxurious ones. And it is conveniently located near MRT, with lots of food and convenience stores nearby.
What stood out was the spacious room. We had twin beds, a bit hard but we like it that way. Toilet also spacious. Had a relaxing time inside. Location, so many food stalls/restaurant nearby and mrt station very close. Comfortable place even for loing stay. They are a bit strict with number of people staying.
I chose this place as I needed to be on time for an early HSR ride from Taipei train station. The hotel is literally a block away from the M8 entrance. I chose a family room with a queen and two singles. It was comfortable for my young family of five. There are plentiful restaurants and shopping options. There are literally two 7-11 at the next block. The rooms are clean, There is a centralised hot water dispenser. I would definitely return and recommend this for future visits
The hotel cleanliness is very well. For my family we are traveling with 2 kids one is 7y. The hotel staffs insist for everyone passport once we step in and this is weird for me as this is the first time we encountered this kind of request that we need to submit all our passport including our kids. Myself is having fever and my husband was rushing to get a room for me to rest. The staff was very annoying by keep asking us to pay Taiwan Dollar of 600 for one of my kids exceeded 6 years old to have an extra bed. The staff said this his hotel policy for kids above 6 years old need to pay for the extra bed although our kids can share with us on the same bed. This sounds like we are not affordable to make that amount. He keep repeating few times during we check-in, while we still have some other family members which also travel with kids in another room having the same problem. My husband quickly hand over the money to the counter staff since he is so insisting for the money so many times and refuse to arrange a room for me to take a rest first. Once he received the money from my husband, what we get was, “sorry sir your room size is unable to have an extra bed”. The money he continues to accept it and without anything extra for us. This is the service from this hotel. Not recommended when you travel along with your kids especially above 6 years old. As all they want is only money. The lobby was very smelly not matter what time you passing the lobby. The room size very small. The room design is not sound proof too. Terrible experience for me. YMCA - Y Hotel Taipei …
