The breakfast room is really big and clean and hygiene is important to them, so much so that at the entrance there is a machine to disinfect your hands and they provide you with a glove to take the food. The variety of food satisfies an international clientele and nothing is missing apart from croissants and Nutella (a true institution for Italians). We therefore recommend including breakfast when choosing your room.
On the 15th floor there is a small spa and on the 16th a small gym which enjoys a fantastic view.
In the hotel there is a Thai restaurant, a Steakhouse nominated in the Michelin guide and a Bakery.
The hotel is located 400 meters from the Xiaonanmen station of the green metro and is positioned halfway between the Longshan temple and the Ximending district, both about 700 meters easily reachable on foot in about 10 minutes.
In front of the hotel there is a 5-storey Carrefour supermarket with food courts of all types including a McDonald's and a Starbucks.
I didn't find any negative elements and I had a great time. A final positive note, despite the tragedy of the earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale which surprised us inside the 6th floor of the hotel, concerns the structure of the hotel which, despite swaying a lot, has held up optimally without causing apparent damage and giving us a feeling of security despite the terror of the moment.
Recommended without a doubt.

About 15 minutes away by walking is Xiamending. It is a pedestrian zone where they have small shops, street food, Taiwan brand stores like Net and emerging international brands too. Not to be missed when you go to Taipei.
Hotel rooms are big, nice and clean. Ample choices for their buffet breakfast.

The location of the hotel is around 800m from Ximending. We prefer to stay in an accommodation that is located a little bit out of the busy areas so as to evade noise. I was a little hesitant about the hotel in the beginning due to its proximity to the main road. But the hotel installed great insulated windows that blocked the traffic noise away! Definitely a great perk for a light sleeper like me.
Check in was quick and efficient. We stayed at their quadruple room and triple room, but we felt the triple room was more spacious and more comfortable. The bed was good, pillows were great, linen felt fresh and clean. We also loved the AI room system. My kids could not stop playing with it.
Overall a great stay, and we would not hesitate to come back the next time we visit Taipei.

After a small tremor, the shaking started so strong that the glass balls of the chandelier on the ceiling fell, and all the guests rushed to run for the front entrance. During this time, the restaurant and nearby front desk staff just looked on blankly, and did not provide any evacuation guidance or announcements in the hotel.
As the guests were rushing to the small door at the front entrance of the hotel, I tried to go to the exit on the other side that I had used before, but a male staff member blocked me. I asked him why, but there was no answer.
Aftershocks continued after the big tremor. Even when there were problems with the hotel facilities such as the elevators, the hotel did not provide any explanation, and even when elderly people were climbing the emergency stairs to the higher floors, there was no apology or greeting.
Taiwan is often hit by major earthquakes, and it seems that measures are being taken, but are all Taiwanese hotels like this? Does this hotel conduct training for earthquake response etc.? They are rather cold and unkind towards their guests...
Longshan Temple and the surrounding night market, Ximen district, and botanical gardens are within walking distance, so it's a convenient hotel, and if they could improve their performance to cater to guests a little more, I think it would be easy to give it a 4 star rating, but it's a shame.
Other things I noticed:
Good points: 5 minute walk to MRT Xiaonanmen Station/Clean rooms/There are several Japanese speaking staff/I asked the front desk to make a reservation at a certain restaurant, and they were happy to help me.
Dissatisfaction: The male doormen at the front entrance are often chatting with each other, and I was never greeted in the morning or evening. It's very different from the Okura and Regent/The breakfast is a little disappointing/The bed moves when you sit on it/The toilet paper is hard to use right behind you.

As expected in the Far East the hotel staff were super efficient. All the paperwork was in hand and I hthink check in took 4 minutes! As soon as we arrived in the hotel arranged airport transportation, the luggage was quickly removed and in less than ten minutes we were in the bedroom with the luggage!
The location is not central but only took 15 minutes walk to the hub of the city. Breakfast was adequate, nothing special. Staff were always in hand to assist.
Have to revisit Taiwan and do a more extensive trip, will stay at this hotel again. Its four star and well meets that rating.
There is one staff that worth giving credit to is the concierge staff “Ray” who was very helpful in everything. He initiated to assist and also remind us of our shuttle booking, give us information on how to get to our requested destination etc. Big thumbs up to Ray !

Firstly the hotel has an entrance at the back which is good as it enables car/van to provide a drop-off conveniently. The main entrance faces the main road which is pretty busy.
I would say the location of the hotel is great as many things were within walking distance. There is a MRT station nearby, Carrefour just across the road and the Xinmending shopping area is not too far away.
The staff were very helpful all the time and recommended us the best way to get around and suggested some restaurants as well.
The room was of average size. The bathroom has an electronic bidet and a unique square bathtub which was a first for me. Good thing despite an averaged size room there was a long platform provided for baggage.
Breakfast was at the ground floor restaurant. The spread provided was quite good with both western and local choices. However it is quite repetitive and can get a bit boring after a few days.
There is also a hottub/jacuzzi on the topfloor. This can be booked at the reception for a fee.
