You might think “oh my, what is this???” when you enter the elevator up to the 2nd floor. But once you exit the elevator and head to the lobby, you can tell you are at the right spot. You receive a super-friendly welcome to this boutique style one-floor hotel with probably 20 rooms. Maybe it 2 floors according to the hotel info, but we did not have time to explore during our 2-nights here). All looks pretty modern compared to other hotels, and the bathroom/restroom has plenty of storage options. The hotel has a comfortable lounge/meeting room to sit down, offering a lot of Taiwanese snacks, drinks and water for free, and most of the time we had the whole lounge for ourselves. We could even use the laundry room for free. A big plus was that this hotel did not feel crowded at all and felt more like a private pension. Another plus is the check-out time being 12pm, which gives you a little bit more time to pack before you leave. Probably the only downside is that the location in the Zhongshan district is not too close to an MRT station (11 minutes away), but had good bus options instead, and is located in a less-crowded neighborhood with a lot of great options for eating. Definitely recommended for a stay in Taipei!

We stayed at the Via Loft for seven days, whilst doing day trips to various other parts of Taiwan.
The hotel is in a good location, near the metro, plus restaurants and bakeries. This is more of a boutique hotel. The rooms are not very big, but this is the norm for Taipei. The hotel has very clean rooms.
The hotel does not provide breakfast, but there are snacks all day long, including tea, coffee and soft drinks plus water and biscuits and other snacks - all complementary. We found this very useful. The hotel also has a laundry room, where we did our washing and has a dryer. This is free for hotel guests, and was useful to us as we were starting on our 2 month travels in the Far East.
Taipei main station is walkable - about 20 minutes. There is a night market 15 minutes walk away,
Some staff speak better English than others.
The airport bus stops near the hotel so no need for a taxi.

The hotel is easy to find. Their receptionist is very helpful and friendly. Very fast in responding to my messages as me and my friend arrive late due to flight delay and they are very helpful in sending us information for us to get local taxi over. They have free flow of snacks, biscuits, water, sodas and tea. Their House keeping staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms are just nice for 2 person with cabin luggage. It comes with a window facing the back where other buildings are. They have clean bedding and bathroom with nice hot water but need to wait for 5mins for it to heat up. They have free flow of bathroom amenities especially mouthwash near the lounge. 7-11 and family mart is just next to the hotel. Walking distance around 3-5mins to the nearest mrt station. Walking distance to the famous Ning Xia Night Market; 5-8mins. You will not get hungry as there are a lot of eatery around the area; locals and also fast food chain like kfc, mcd, Starbucks around the corner. Will gonna stay again here as the place is quiet and clean.

Had a wonderful time staying over at Hotel Via Loft. It is only about 5-10mins walk from Shuanglian MRT station. It's also approximately 10-15mins walk away from Ningxia Nightmarket. There are many amenities such as convenient stores, food stalls, shops, etc around the place. Rooms are also beautiful. I would definitely recommend here again.

Clean and neat hotel to stay in. With great staff and cleaning staff who made my stay very enjoyable. Daily breakfast available from 7am to 11am with toast, cereal and milk. (Snacks, biscuits available at other times) All day coffee and tea available.

It's close to Shuanglian Station and there are many restaurants nearby, so there was a space where we could eat food we bought nearby, which was very convenient. When I arrived, the entrance of the hotel was a bit scary already, but I still find the place quite ok with good locations and modern design to start with.
My nightmare started on my 2nd night of stay when I felt very itchy at the middle of the night. I woke up a few times but didn't pay too much attention. I check out early the next morning and didn't have chance to talk with reception about the itchiness.
Later on that day, I found my body so itch that l looked at my body in the mirror, I found that I had over 200 bites on my body bitten by bed bugs!! (Not much on my arms or legs)
Even I am back home for a few days now, I still have bit marks and itchiness all around me.
I definitely won't recommend this place if you want a good sleep!

Dear Mr. Winsor C We are deeply sorry about your suffering and the unpleasant experience and hope you are feeling better now. We received your report the 2nd day after you checked out and immediately checked if there was bug on the bed. We examined the cover, the sheet, bed surface and flipped the bed over for further examination. The house keeping team also checked the surroundings including the floor and furniture but did not find any clue of bugs. There were no reports of bug issue from other guests before and after this occurrence. We could not figure out what the real problem was yet. As we usually have monthly cleaning from the professional cleaning bug company, we will ask for a further examination and cleaning from them. We are sorry for your unpleasant experience and wish you get better soon.

Totally depends on whether you are travelling with young kids or all adults .
I'd would say Via Hotel Ximending will be a better choices as the one at Zhongshan is a commercial building and 10-15mins walk from the MRT station whereby the one at ximending is less then 5mins . Both hotels have got plenty of local food around them. There's a traditional roadside market 'wet market' near the Zhongshan outlet (highly recommend if you are into exploring their local food) .
Water is safe to shower with . Unlimited supply of Bottle water is provided by the hotel so you dont have to worry .
