We stayed a couple of nights as a family in connecting rooms on the 9th floor. The rooms are specious, clean and well maintained. They are also really well soundproofed and the curtains thick enough to make the room completely dark if you wish. Beds are the right level of firm. Overall we slept really well, which is the most important, something many hotels seem to forget these days. I would highly recommend staying there if you’re visiting Taipei.

huge room, comfy bed. serviceable bathroom. friendly staff. great dining options on site. It's under new ownership, so not new hotel per se, so there were minor wear and tear on the walls and fixtures...tho mgmt should replace the stained lobby seats! However, I believe the furniture is all new. bottom line, great for short stay. amazingly central location. bright and sizeable room with comfy bed.

Arrived early, reception staff was able to complete the check in process to save time later. Hotel is easy access from MRT, and the neighbourhood is full of coffee shops, cafes and local restaurants. Room was ready around 1pm. Room was spacious, well appointed, comfy bed and pillows. The new renovation of the hotel was nicely done but the bathroom is still a bit dated and tired. House keeping was professional and efficient. Bar/lounge was nice, drinks are well priced for a hotel and they can accommodate one’s drink order but needs a bit of clarification/instructions for classic cocktails with some modification but that seems to be the same throughout Taipei. Hotel staff were professional, lots of bowing as a sign of respect common in the Japanese culture.

The room was spacious and clean, it’s larger than most of the hotels in Taiwan, The buffet breakfast was very good, there were many many choices. The location is convenient, only a minute walk to the subway. There are many small restaurants nearby. I tried some of them and they were all tasty.

Hotel room was very spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. They responded promptly to my complaint about smell of cigarettes, I was so impressed. However, I will not go there again. It is because my uncomfortable feeling about the buffet breakfast: when you get in, they will remind you your mealtime is 90 minutes; the dining table is too small for 2 persons, forks and knives will get fallen if you don't pay attention; they turn off the light when the buffet breakfast time is up! The staff in the restaurant seldom smile! This time I will stay at Taipei 3 nights as last time, when I imagine how the breakfast there would be, I have decided to give another similar-level hotel a chance.

Kai Hua Lou was one of the Hotel Metropolitan Premier’s restaurants. I got to enjoy a delivered meal from them during my quarantine. It was one of the nicer meal presentation as well the most satisfying I enjoyed in quarantine. The duck was tender and juicy. The sticky rice was substantial with lots of thinly sliced mushrooms. Cabbage and tofu sides rounded out the meal along with a sweet steamed cake dessert. I enjoyed the takeout meal and from this dining experience I would visit the actual restaurant in the future.
