When seeing Gloria Residence for the first time, it is very difficult not to be awe struck by its simple, vivid and fresh exterior. Illuminated by sun light, a cloud pattern formed by a mosaic collage of more than 200 pieces, rays glistening as though in a dream, shines an extraordinary light on the restless Linsen North Road. This is the masterpiece of Aoki Jun, the architect engaged by Louis Vuitton, who has earned worldwide fame for designing flagship LV stores in New York and Asia. At Gloria Residence he took “Heaven” as the starting point for his design, creating a breathtaking piece of work. Push open the door and walk into Gloria Residence and a gentle and warm scent presents itself in an instant. Renowned interior designer, Ray Chen, used a gentle, tranquil color scheme, enabling each guest to begin to experience the calm, comfortable atmosphere as soon as they step into Gloria Residence. In order to give full rein to the concepts of “home” and “fashionable,” Chen mulled deeply over the needs of guests. He decorated the calm, modest space with oak-timbered new oriental furniture and fully measured each inch of space so that each corner of every room could be fully utilized. The lounges, bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms were all designed with the utmost care. Every corner is hospitable space. Fashionable, gentle and congenial to enable guests to embark upon a comfortable life in Taiwan; this is the design philosophy behind Gloria Residence.

Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
The room is simple and clean, with no rare smell from bed and pillow and they are extremely comfortable for a night of good night sleep. I woke up for breakfast at 7 and the employee at the lounge interact with guests friendly with fluent English and Japanese. There was a young couple with a baby, and the staff takes great care to make sure the baby is safe in the lounge, and make the baby happy. I can feel the service from the staff in the lounge that morning (5-Jan-2020) is from his heart with passion, and I will definitely choose Gloria Residence for my next stay in TPE.

We stayed in a 2 bed room corner suite at the Gloria Residence over 2 periods in February 2020. Centrally located, very clean and excellent service. We liked the Gloria very much and would definitely stay here again as a family on our next visit to Taipei. The only negative I would say is size, but this is the middle of town so it is a minor compromise as we were not in the room most of the time. Note that their cleaning staff is super thorough, we had a team of 6 everyday, and each of them had an assigned task. It was quite a sight!

Gloria Residence is not a typical hotel. It doesn’t offer daily housekeeping services yet has all the amenities you would need in an apartment - a well equipped kitchenette, a washer/dryer machine, a large closet, etc. Our room was very clean, including the space behind the bathroom vanity. The lounge has a drinking water dispenser for travelers who need to refill their water bottles.

My sister and I stayed at Gloria Residence for about 3 weeks and just checked out today. A couple of hours later, we received a call from Gloria telling us that they found a blood stain on one of the bedsheets. My sister had an accidental leak as she has unusually heavy periods. She didn’t have time to wash the bedsheet as we had to check out in a hurry. The hotel staff who called my sister put her on the spot and made her feel extremely embarrassed. She apologized for her menstrual leak and offered to pay for the cleaning fee if they’re unable to wash the blood stain out, but the employee continued to yap on about the stain and said they will call her to charge her for the bedsheet if they’re unable to get the stain out. She feels extremely humiliated by this interaction.
A couple of days before checking out, I received a similar call from one of the hotel staff confronting me about a stain on one of the towels. Sometimes, when removing makeup, a little bit of my foundation gets on the face towel. However, they are always easily removable once washed with detergent. I let them know that the makeup stain is not permanent and even offered to wash the towel for them if they’d send it back to my room. They refused and also let me know they would charge me for the towel if they’re unable to wash out the stain.
Never in my life have I ever stayed at a hotel that called their guests about every little stain they find on the towels or sheets. Perhaps they should require customers to bring their own towels and bedding, or make it a house rule for guests to wash all hotel linens if they cannot handle regular wear and tear. I feel it’s also extremely insensitive for the hotel staff to chastise my sister about the stain on her bedsheet knowing that it’s due to menstruation.
This is truly a shame as I really enjoyed staying in the 2-bedroom suite. Despite the unreliable WiFi service that made it very hard to work in my room, I felt at home during these couple of weeks. I would consider returning only if they train their staff to be more considerate towards female guests.

First the location - Lin Sen North Road is the renowned Taipei red light district similar to Soi Patpong of Bangkok and Cheongnyangni or Seoul. If you're looking for action this would be a good area but perhaps not the most suitable for wholesome families to explore after dark.
Overall, the Gloria Residence rooms were clean, the front office and housekeeping staff were courteous, and complimentary coffee was available 24 hours a day in the nice quiet basement lounge.
Essentially this hotel and the Gloria Prince next door are members of the same Gloria hotel group but the Gloria Residence does not have it's own restaurant or room service thus food and beverage service is handled by the Gloria Prince Hotel next door, which is where the problem lies. it seems that the Gloria Prince charges the Gloria Residence a management fee and the customer gets caught up in accounting journal entries which leaves a bad taste.
Moreover, the Gloria Residence sales department seems unmotivated and does not seem to be interested in potential long stay customers. Most hotels offer long stay packages, this one did not.

We appreciated the service apartment set-up with kitchenette, large fridge and washing machine - perfect for bringing back Taiwan's plentiful fruits and snacks and handling laundry generated by hot and humid weather. The pool was a god-send, especially with kids, and long enough for grown-ups to get in some decent laps (but note closing times, 11am-2pm, 5-6pm). The spacious 24-hour lounge area was handy, with water refill station, coffee machine, and basic snacks. Most of all we appreciated the attentive staff, who were ready to help with all our small needs - calling taxis, slightly extending check-out time, directing us to a nearby traditional breakfast spot, and even posting a favorite stuffed animal that got left behind. Location is within reasonable walking distance to MRT, Ningxia night market and Zhongshan area. All in all, clean, comfortable, convenient, and excellent value. We'd stay again.

Revisited Taipei after five years and found the perfect hideout for good rest and impeccable service at the Gloria Residence which is strategically located between two metro stations, the Taipei yellow bike scheme at Kangle Park and many shops and eateries.
The rooms consist of a small living room with desk and sofa, a bedroom, a bathroom with tub, shower and Japanese toilet, plus a kitchenette to prepare small meals. Internet works flawlessly and at high speed. On the balcony there’s a washing machine which is absolutely functional in the sweaty summer weather. The silence in the room was an absolute blessing.
Staff is well trained, very friendly and flexible offering a 2 PM late checkout. The indoor swimming pool was the cherry on the cake, allowing for my exercise to continue as at home.
In short, highly recommended, I will come again to enjoy this oasis in charming Taipei!

I think the LeoFoo Residence is a better value. The Gloria is located further north in Zhongshan, whereas the LeoFoo is near Nanjing and Zhongshan Rds, a nicer neighborhood. The Gloria rooms are configured a bit unusual, with the living and kitchen areas being a bit narrow Also the hotel does not offer any breakfast. And the room does not have complete blackout drapes, so the AM light woke me up. The Gloria does have a huge common area on the lower level, which is great for impromptu meetings and relaxing. Given the prices for both hotels is usually the same, I'd say the LeoFoo is better value.

I stayed at Gloria Residence for my first Taiwan trip at Taipei. The front desk team have been very helpful, from foreign currency exchange to local transportation, helping with concert ticket booking with local cell phone. I would be happy to stay here for my next trip at Taipei.

Secondary there is few vegetarian restaurants near by.

We stayed on 8th floor and were happy to have more light. There is some road noise so if you can, I would suggest asking for a room on a higher floor. The hotel is a great choice.
There are more places to choose from in the Zhongshan District area.
