My family and I had a good time in this hotel. Nice “Onsen” Spa on the roof top of the building. Activities for kids, which you have to book in advance, as they were all booked out. Rooms are clean and well Maintained. Breakfast is for Chinese food lovers. There is no selection of cheese, no serials nor are omelets available. Simple toast and dry tasteless croissant. Personally I’m disappointed about what’s shown on the internet and what is offered! Around the Hotel are no convenient stores. To city center it’s about a 15min ride by car. Enjoy your stay!
Hotel is large and modern. It is located on outskirts of Taitung city so a little out of the way, We had a car and onsite parking was available and free. The rooms were large and clean. The onsen on rooftop was small but very relaxing after a long day travelling...several pools of different temperatures available, Separate areas for male and female as no swim costumes allowed.Staff were friendly but not a lot of English spoken..However, they were quick to find somebody who could answer our questions for us.which was appreciated. The hotel was quite busy with several tour buses staying so meal times were very busy. Breakfast(included) had some variety though mainly Asian choices.
The Chihpen Century is a nice modern hotel with everything you would expect. Rooms were clean and spacious and there was a guest laundry on the top floor next to the hot tubs. Rules of the hot tubs include naked bathing. Breakfast was nice with a good selection. The evening we were there we were even entertained by a live band. Good staff.
Nice hotel in taitung. You can reach family mart and seven eleven by walking. around 10mins from hotel. The servant also very very very polite and nice. Hotel has gym room. You can enjoy gym in the evening or morning. And the restaurant also very nice.
We stayed a total of 2 nights at Century Hotel. Comparing several hotel options, we decided to settle on Century Hotel due to the availability of hot spring bath at Chihpen area. We contacted the hotel to arrange pickup from Taitung Train Station and to Chihpen Train Station at a fee of NTD250 and NTD150 per person respectively. Check In: We took the Puyuma express train from Taipei and arrived at the hotel around 12pm. We were told that check-in time is at 3pm and we can only wait for 3 hours before we are allowed to get the keycard. I understand that standard check in time is at 3pm but felt that hotel could have exercise some form of flexibility especially for tired travelers. We went back to the front desk at 3.30pm and this time round, we were warmly welcomed by a gentleman. His excellent service is a stark contrast to that of the previous staff we dealt with. He briefed us through the various amenities and facilities of the hotel and showed us to the lift. Location: As the hotel is located in Chihpen area, it is in the outskirt of Taitung city. As such, for travelers who did not drive, there is only one bus servicing the area which brings you to the city area, with an hourly frequency. The concierge is helpful by providing us with the bus timetable. There is not much to do in the area - with 2 convenience stores down the road and a very delectable Takoyaki balls stall run by an elderly Japanese couple further down the street which we enjoyed very much. It is hard to get a cab in the area. Rooms: We were assigned to a room on the 9th floor facing greenery. In my opinion, the furniture seems aged and poor in maintenance. There are stains in the cushion, curtain and also in the toilet. The hotel could have put in more effort in the upkeep for the nightly rates paid. It definitely looks better in photos than in real life. Breakfast: We had complimentary daily breakfast. The breakfast is bad - while variety of food is good, taste wise there is definitely rooms for improvement. When we went down for breakfast at 9am, there is not much food left probably due to the fact that there are several tour groups in the morning. Facilities: There is a rooftop hot spring bath which is the highlight of our stay. We enjoyed the hot spring bath very much. Also, every room comes with a private hot spring tub if one is concern about privacy. Conclusion: All in all, we felt that the hotel could definitely have the potential to do a lot more especially in the area of room cleanliness and breakfast service. Service wise - Mr Kao from the front desk is exceptional!…
