My six nights here were quite nice. The room was large and clean. The bed was really firm, but I didn't have any problems with it. My favorite part of the hotel was its (free) expansive breakfast buffet, serving both Western and Eastern cuisine. I also liked the gym -- it's larger than I had expected. It had cardio and weightlifting equipment, as well as free weights, and a TV with English-speaking stations.

I stayed at the hotel during a business trip for 2 days. Although its rooms offer good space, they demand rennovation and their smell reminds humidity and smoke. People are gentle and their English is good. Breakfast is ok.

In general, I wouldn't stay again.

Very good hotel. plus: very nice and spacious room (got free upgrade, executive floor), very friendly hotel-staff, supermarkets, bakeries and lot of different restaurants in short walking distance
minus: 15-20min walk to metro (or take bus to metro), shower wall was not 100% leakproof, no good view from room

we had room 1519 (photos), stayed 2006-10-19 till 2006-10-21
due to the location - I would try another hotel the next time, although itself was excellent

We stayed at the rebar crown plaza taipei on our recent trip to attend the Food and Packaging Trade show. before going , i printed a map of the location of the hotel to make sure its near the Taipei World Trade Center. the map shows its about 5 blocks away but its actually very far that you cannot walk but have to take a 20 min taxi ride. Its a small n nice hotel, the breakfast buffet is ordinary, with no changes for the 2 days that we stayed at the hotel. The only thing i notice and hate is that everytime you walked through the door into the hotel, the security and doormen watches you in a very suspicious way, never smiling or saying anything. Part of hotel service is hospitalityand showing courtesy, maybe they should tell the doorman to smile and try to recognize and know their guests.

As soon as I walked in, I could smell the moldy smell everyone had been talking about.
The room was so dingy and run down and felt like I needed to sanitize everything first.
The room quality was rated about a 2 star hotel while the staff were closer to a 5 star hotel.
I was surprised they had a cot for the baby but, when they rolled in the creaky old wooden cot with 1.5" of dust I could not beleive they brought it to my room without wiping it down first.
The bathroom was old.
The walls were so thin that you could hear someone coughing!
The location was mediocre because you had to take a cab everywhere.
If you're on a tight budget and don't care about the facilities, this might be your place.
The wifi only works in the lobby but, it's free so that was nice.

I stayed in this hotel for three weeks for a business meeting working inside also during the day. Nothing to say about the kindness and the courtesy of the staff, all of them were ready to assist you in every moment of the day for all the requests and the needs. Also the food was really good and they had special attention for vegetarian and vegan requests. The rooms and the rest of the hotel needs to be updated, some rooms were really humid and I needed to add a heater for my room to dry it a little bit more. Also the gym at the last floor was too much humid to do some workout and I abdicated to frequent it. The position is not bad, depend, it is really close to the metro station and you can walk also to Taipei 101

I was booked into room 905. You can smell the damp as soon as you get out of the lift but it is a subtropical climate and air conditioning can cause problems.
The room was in need of updating but I could cope with that what I couldn't cope with was the black mold on the wall, the ingrained dirt around the tap on the bidet, the dust, the ripped and stained lamp shades, peeling paint in the bathroom and the beans and plastic on the floor. I arrived late at night after a 19 hour journey so didn't report it that night but didn't unpack and slept on top of the bed.
The next morning I reported it to reception and asked to change rooms as I couldn't stand the smell of the damp. When I returned in the evening I had been moved to the executive floor.
There was still a faint damp smell but the walls had been clad and a false wall added on the window wall which seemed to have solved the problem.

Have stayed here many times during the past several years even though it is quite old because:

1. Location is great with subway quite close by (may be 200-300 meters).
2. Staffs are very friendly and quite willing to help.
3. Room is quite big.
4. House keeping did a good job.
5. Definitely value for money.

Suggestions to the management: please do some renovations/upgrades.

My personal advice: If you are on a budget but still want a decent place to stay, this is your hotel - not to mention the fact that room is quite big.

10월30일에 1박 숙박했는데 보증금을 아직도 환불받지 못했네요
I stayed for one night on October 30th, but I still haven't received a refund on my deposit fee.

체크아웃 당일에 호텔직원에게 카드가 자동으로 환불된다는 것을 재차 확인받았음에도 환불받지 못했습니다
On the day of check-out, the hotel staff confirmed that the card will be automatically refunded, but did not receive any refund messages.

The location is good. The rooms are very spacious. The service is good. It is a good hotel for business men. The hotel provides free convenient transportation to the Nangyang Exhibition Centre which is an added advantage. An Indian restaurant serving Indian cuisine is also located within walking distance.

TAIPEI airport is about 40 km from city ,you can choose public transportation. When arrival in city, you call a taxi. If you don't want to transfer ,you could just call a taxi directly to hotel , Taxi fare is about NTD 1000-1200
