We had a very short stay 1N @ this resort. From the flyers in room, we notices that it's actually offers a few activities. We went for their cruise and feeding of the fishes when we arrived in the evening. After dinner, we went for their DIY handicraft activities (making bookmark). Then continue with hitting golf at the range at night. It's quite special as we are hitting into the lake. In the morning the kids enjoy playing in the maze and riding the "motorbike" and "car" in the field (coin operated) before we check-out.

The service was good. We paid for transport to and from Chiayi HSR (NT300 round trip per pax including children). Log cabins look lovely especially at night. Resort was quite large - but 1 day will be enough to explore the place. We awoke to the sound of gibbons crying in the morning. The kids enjoyed feeding the koi in the ponds (have to buy koi feed at NT10). There were also rabbits, deer, emu, pigs, birds. There is an area next to the grassland where you can try rafting - fun for the adults and kids. We also played golf - we were given 2 coupons per room - 1 coupon can exchange for 60 golf balls. Clubs have to be rented at NT50. Food at the Chinese restaurant was quite good - typical Chinese fare. There is also a cafe onsite which sells coffee, tea, waffles, spaghetti where we had lunch which was a welcome change from the Chinese food. Breakfast buffet was typically chinese food - no western items at all. If you stayed more than 1 day at the resort, it would be boring to dine at the same places. It was nice weather (23 deg) to just sit on the grassland to chill and enjoy the sun. There were some mosquitoes even though it was cold (temp drop to about 12 deg or so at night) but they didn't bother us too much. Unfortunately, compared with Flying Cow Ranch in Miaoli which we stayed at before coming to Nanyuan in Tainan, Nanyuan is a lot more run down. The landscaping was not well maintained and it was a pity because the resort's main theme is showcasing the flowers and plants. The infrastucture was also not well maintained although the log cabins were clean. The animals look a bit sad being trapped on the little islands in the lake. They have some DIY activities which were chargeable. Only 1 DIY activity - making of a gibbon bookmark was free and that was easily completed in 10 mins. It would be nicer if the DIY activities were free since we had to pay entrance fee for the resort even though we were staying there. Compared to Flying Cow ranch in Miaoli, the entrance fee for Flying Cow was waived and the DIY activities were completely FREE for the guests who stayed there. If you happen to be in Tainan, no harm paying a visit. Otherwise, it is not worthwhile to travel all the way to Nanyuan. Overall, this resort probably caters more for locals, don't think it matches up to international standards in terms of the overall upkeep and experience.

We went in a group of 12, 4 adults and 8 kids age 7 to 16. We stayed 3 nights in the chalet styled rooms which is quite old and beds were very hard but still clean. Even though weather is cool but there were still some mosquitoes. Have to be prepared but they also sell insect repellent at the convenience store. We still had to pay a one time entrance charge (NT350/adult and NT300 /child) even though we booked the rooms for 3 nights. Normal buffet breakfast is provided. Rides on the grassland cost NT30 and was less than a minute. Some didn't work but you can ask for a refund at the reception counter, no questions asked. Activities are animal feeding (there are deers, mouse deer, guinea pigs and rabbits at no charge and kids get to touch the animals), golfing (charge for renting of clubs at NT50 each, 60 golf balls in a basket came with the entrance fee), visiting the bird sanctuary and animal island, coy feeding, a small maze and rafting. We also paid for a BBQ lunch which of course had to BBQ the food ourselves but the staff helped to set the fire quickly. Very nice weather for BBQ and we enjoyed ourselves. Overall, relaxing atmosphere from our busy city life. However, the resort is far from the city so we had to pay NT1600 per taxi for a return trip to Tainan Garden night market (花园夜市).

We enjoyed the farm but the plasticky bathrooms in the log cabins have a yucky smell especially if you leave the door open and come back later. The toilets near the main dining room was also smelly and my son vomitted after dinner when he went to the toilet. Not sure whether it was the dinner or the toilet smell. The remainder of the hotel bedroom was clean and Ok. The kids enjoyed the fireworks in the carpark at night.

A very nice resort farm with lots of activities that will be loved by the kids. We enjoyed the stay very much ... though the bed is a bit too hard for us and there were lots of mosquitoes. Other than that, everything is perfect.

Although located in a remote part of Tainan, the resort provided shuttle service to/from the train station. The kids (9 and 11) were amazed at the sight of the raft and really enjoyed the ride. The blooming sakura, sea of lavendar and other botanical species demonstrated the fine work of the gardeners. There was also a zoo and children's palyground. The whole site was easily accessible by stroller. The resort was made of timber - spacious, clean and basic. The only complaint was dinner - only offered Chinese cuisine before 19.00 hrs (to be ordered before 17.00 hrs). If the cafe/noodle shop extend the service more choices would be available.
