Everyone here was incredibly helpful and friendly. Flexible, comfortable, convenient, and we were pointed in the right direction countless times. Jojo is really knowledgeable about all of the hikes not only here but all over Taiwan and abroad. We really enjoyed hearing all about her own epic journeys. Next time in Hualien we will definitely be staying here again!

We stayed with Jojo at her hostel in April before we headed off to hike the Dali-Datong Trail in Taroko National Park. The location of the hostel and accommodations are exactly as described and Jojo’s hospitality was second to none! Jojo was extremely helpful with our questions relating to activities to do in the area prior to our visit and she was instrumental in getting our overnight homestay organized with Dadou in Datong village; we hiked the trail by ourselves and this is certainly geared towards the more adventurous independent hiker with stamina - hands down one of the highlights of our stay in Hualien. Jojo also edits a blog which details lots of great adventurous things to do while staying in Hualien where we found a lot of useful tips and information especially on the local hikes in and around Taroko. You can find the information by searching hualien adventures :) 100% recommend staying at the Comfy Hostel. Thank you Jojo!

As the name suggests, comfy hostel is very comfy to stay. It’s in a great location, within a walking distance from restaurants, train station and convenience stores. The lobby area is perfect for working and the internet is fast. Beds are comfortable and the toilets are clean. There is a washing and drying area on the rooftop. The best part of this hostel is the host, Jojo. She is well traveled, speaks excellent English and friendly to talk to. She goes above and beyond to help guests. She even drove me and another guest to Taroko in the night to watch the meteor showers. Looking forward to staying in this hostel again when I return to Hualien at some point.

Jojo is friendly, accommodating and resourceful. Her recommendations cater to your needs and you feel fully immersed in what Hualien has to offer. The area inside is really comfortable, and offers a book display, board games, an activity table, a flat screen television, and an excellent choice of bicycles.

A really lovely, cosy hostel with fantastic staff (who respond really quickly to email!) located a five minute walk from the train /bus station in a quiet street. I stayed in the female dorm (fourth floor) and it was very comfortable. Each bunk has its own shelf, plug sockets, hangers and hooks and a locker - really thoughtful details. Everything was super clean. The common area on ground floor was comfortable and well - equipped. Doris, the owner, was incredibly friendly and provided lots of useful information about visiting Taroko gorge. Highly recommend this place!
