Ben is a considerate housekeeper. He gave me lots of recommendations. The room is clean and quiet. It is close to a local market, in which you can find various local food. And it's close to Tamshui, Yangming Mountain and Beitou hot spring museum, etc. The price is moderate enough. Many thanks for Ben's hospitality:)
It was a bit difficult to find. We had to ask some locals where this road is. Turns out we had to go up the stairs in an alley. So i let my partner look after the bags downstairs while i went up to look for it. I recognized despite it looking like an ordinary houae like everywhere else in that area because it has lots of signs written in different languages. They didn't have a doorbell so I was yelling "qingwen". No one opened the door but they do have phone#s written on the door. You can call different people depending on the language you speak so i copied it. I had to go back down to my boyfriend who has a phoneservice that can make international phonecalls(mine doesn't). We called someone who speaks Japanese and he immediately came down the stairs in the alley to help us carry our luggage. The interior is very clean and has an artsy design. It is a very relaxing place. We stayed in 1 room for 2 people. The room is very clean and almost just enough for the bed but it is okay because you can hangout in the living room anyways if you want to. The bed is very soft and comfy and i was very relaxed there despite the small space because it was nicely decorated and clean. There are some extension wires which was convenient for charging too. The owner also spent hours helping us find an accomodation for 1month since they are fully booked on some days. He has connections so we are able to stay in a nearby hostel on days they are fully booked and go back to longstay when they are free. He allowed us to leave our baggage there for our convenience and so we just brought our backpacks and neccesities for a few days in different hostels nearby. For longterm stay, like us they give discounts so it's really cheap.…
I stayed in June 2014 for about ten days; I wrote this review at the time: "Staff were warm. The place was immaculately clean. I disliked the long walk up the hill with my luggage (a lot of luggage), although one of the staff helped me. Counter space was good compared to the two other hostels I visited, although the bathroom doesn't have a door, so you have to change inside the wet shower. You can flush TP at this hostel, and it's always cool inside. Laundry facilities are excellent."
